Wow that's actually kinda dumb, control is already hard to come by in 19. Having to reload and hoping to get control on the pitch I want in training is RNG time waster.

This game came out about 3 weeks before your post. You completed, what, 24 or 25 seasons that quickly? Did you carryover from the 2019 version?

2B for the Padres we won 101 games in the 2022 regular season swept the Rockies in the NLDS took a 3-0 in the NLCS over the Phillies only to pull a 2004 Yankees and blow a 3-0 series lead

The only saving grace is they haven't traded Tatis for scarps yet and we signed Aaron Judge in the offseason!

The thing that is most annoying is the fact that you can't ask the manager to move you up in the batting line-up... I am currently #6 in batting average in the mlb and #1 in walks and OPS all because i bat 8th right before the pitcher and am a HR threat every at bat...idk why they wont move me up so i wont get walked so much.

Hey folks, quick question. I am just trying out RTTS in 20. I have played it in every game since its inception so I am familiar with how everything works. But for the life of me I can not seem to get the timing right on being able to slide the way I want. Is there a problem with it this year? Any pointers? I know the controls etc. I went back to 19 and I can slide anyway I want whenever I want but I can't get it working in '20. Appreciate some pointers or info on this.

            Thanks

Always been 45 which kinda sucks because I want to pull off a Julio Franco or Jamie Moyer.

They added the need to press L2 (I think) when sliding in 20. Not sure if that carries over to RTTS or if it's even still the case (possibly was removed). Could that be the reason?

Re: Road To The Show Thread

I'd like to preface this post with the statement that this is not a complaint, just an observation.

Context: Third last series of the 2023 regular season, Brewers won the first two games. Padres (barely holding the second wild card spot by two games) leading 5-1 over Brewers (division leader by one game with a 79-77 record. Yes the NL Central could potentially be clinched with a losing record).

Top of the 9th. My RTTS closer (terrible ERA over 5.50, 45/56 saves) is put into the game with runners on 1st and 2nd, two outs. Simple enough save, yes?

I knew as soon as that wild pitch happened and my catcher couldn't find the ball in front of him (start of clip) that it wasn't going to end well for me.

I must be clear, I am owning those two pitches that resulted in the double and the homer. My inputs were clearly terrible (the pitch for the homer was close to the yellow line, at least). However my hypothesis is that the results would have been the same regardless of what my inputs were.

I'd love to get my hands on the logic/code just so I could see what factors influence how a play unfolds. Or perhaps attributes are adjusted prior to each play or game depending on the situation.

To be honest, I really thought that MIL were going to win this. I figured it has been scripted that SD was going to give up that second wild card spot to the Nationals.

As an aside, in this RTTS world deGrom is headed for a 5th Cy Young in six years (missed out on 2020): https://twitter.com/Red_Ted_is_back/...804835328?s=20

And Miggy... poor Miggy... I'm surprised his team didn't keep him on to start 2023 for three more homers: https://twitter.com/Red_Ted_is_back/...836521472?s=20

UPDATE: In the second last series of the season a similar thing happened against San Francisco (last in the NL West); I gave up the tying run but we came back to win it and even after being swept by the Dodgers in our last series we made the wild card... However Washington actually took the second wild card spot after all because Philadelphia (four games clear) with nine games to go) went on a massive slide and bowed out in game 162. We then smashed the Nats in the wild card game 15-7.

It's not so predictable after all! I still want to see the code

Well yup it is L1. Thanks for that. Even says it in the control help screen, which obviously I missed. This is a weird design change? I mean why add another button into a system that worked fine?

I think the R-stick alone allows you to look around to track the ball. Haven't played RTTS yet this year or much last, but had a few player locks in MTO.

At this point he's turned it into an art form - every swing a Picasso, every RBI a Rembrandt, every blast into the stands a Bob Ross happy little tree.

Going into my 4th MLB season I just won my salary arbitration.

I was going for Mike Trout money as I've outperformed him the past two seasons but the game wouldn't go that high.

The 2024 season has seen my Rangers off to a torrid start. After coming up short in the playoffs the last two years, the brass has put together a team that is an early favorite to win it all, in particular the pitching staff. We're loaded for bear and coming for the pennant.

On Jackie Robinson Day down in the late innings to the Mets with DeGrom still on the mound:

We went on to win 5-4 in no small part to the late game heroics of yours truly.

Road to the show is very stale, I hope they add more to it. The Personality they added is not well done. Even some competent story options? Even the questions you get and answers are dumb. They need to come up with some new ideas for this franchise. If you are going to try to add some RPG lite aspects like choices/decisions, at least make it so there is some risk/reward.

For instance, have options on what to do in the offseason, and each one can help or hurt some of your attributes?

You get offered to go out for a night on the town by a friend, with a game the next day, if you do, you end up in the papers and take a hit on performance the next day

How do we not even have a trophy room or something to customize after all these years?

Can we get offered endorsements or something to spend our earnings on?
