Re: Road To The Show Thread

is anyone having trouble loading their RTTS? I carried mine over from last year on day 1 or 2 of early release, played a few games, no problem. After not touching it for a few days, decided to play it last night. It took forever to load(probably 5 minutes) and when it finally did load, it wanted me to create a new RTTS. Anyone else seeing this?

Created a SP flamethrower archetype. I expressed an interest in the Angels and lo and behold they drafted me in the 15th round. I'm currently 5th in the rotation for the Rocket City Trash Pandas. I'm not sure I want to be called up to AAA or The Show; the Trash Pandas' mascot and their uniforms are adorable.

Are you using your sliders from last year? I had what you are describing and it ruined the saves, had to delete my saves and start over and make my sliders in 20, now all is good

Thought it was odd my player didn’t progress in any stats and did the training showcase next year...complete with the same interactions from other players. I must have impressed cause I was drafted round 15 by the tigers. I like the immediate feedback, but some things are flat out stupid. For example, I had a 3-0 count and took a pitch and it was a strike and took a hit on plate vision. Really? I’m a teen in the minors and you want me to free swing on 3-0 counts? Those things bug the heck out of me.
I like to take the first pitch on a at bat and I get a negative almost everytime it’s in the strike zone on the first pitch.

Re: Road To The Show Thread

Finally became the starting CF in 2021 after playing AA for all of 2020 and ending at 76 OVR. Got invited to Spring Training and hit the cover off the ball and ended as 78 OVR. Rode the bench until I was higher OVR than the starting CF (sorry Aaron Hicks) on May 23, 2021.

Some observations. It looks like getting called up and starting is 100% all about OVR. I have OF/1B as my secondary position, so I played almost every game either starting at RF, LF, CF or 1B until I hit 82 OVR (Hicks is 81) and promptly replaced him. Also, your batting order in the lineup is also 100% stat based. I am leading the league in BA, RBI and HR, yet I am batting 7th vs LHP and 8th vs RHP. Funny thing is, when I wasn't in the starting lineup but started the game I would hit 3rd or 4th. Very strange. Also, equipment makes no difference with mananager's decision. I am. 93 OVR with my equipment and clearly the best hitter in the team and the best OF, but didn't start until I hit 82 OVR.

Edit: After another month of games, I've realized something else. The manager only has memory of your current series. I always start the series (or consecutive games) batting 7th due to my mid 60s contact (80+ PWR), hit well, next game moved to batting 5th, hit well, then moved to 3rd or cleanup. I sit due to low DUR or there's a day off, and I start at 7th again, hit well, move up to 5th, hit well, move to hitting 3rd. Cycle begins after another day off.

Hope this helps others with their call ups and becoming a starter.

FYI-Over on The Show Nation people are reporting having trouble importing last years save.
Adam from SDS said "Please contact our support team and provide your affected save files so that we can investigate. Thank you."
I have not purchased yet so I can't put in my 2 cents.

I just started a new RTTS pitcher after the latest roster update and in my first game gave up two runs in the first inning and here is my first plate appearance:

If doing that means an ERA of 18.00 I guess that's a reasonable trade-off

Over the course of 4-5 games, the CPU tried stealing second base numerous times and I was unable to move my player to cover 2nd base, I could start moving him toward the bag when the cone of light showed up but he would stop short and the catcher's throw would come directly to where he stopped (nowehere even close to the bag). And in each case, the SS did not cover either.

                        Have you seen this happen?

I have a 2nd baseman and when this happens you have to immediately move to the bag as soon as u see there is a runner on 1st base u have to walk as close as u can to the 2nd base bag and of course if he doesn't try to steal this may put u out of position but if he does all u have to do is run in the direction and u will make it

I think my PS is drunk. Created a SP, got drafted. My OVR was high 40's - 50's. My STA was 55. (I since deleted that pitcher). Tonight created a CP ended up with a OVR of 45 and a STA of 70. Are beginning OVR's lower across the board this year or did I find unique circumstances?

playing's a 1B and got drafted by the Marlins in the 16th round. about 3 weeks in. I keep reading how the hitting is easy but not for me. batting about .230 so far when in previous versions I raked in the minors and had issues in the majors. Seems like in previous versions pitchers threw everything down the center of the plate, not like that now and my guy is a 50 ovr so unrealistic to be hitting .400 so enjoying my game . plus taking pitches and such is making me a better hitter than swinging at almost every pitch. will help when I get to the majors. all in all I am enjoying the experiance

My pitcher is struggling in AA in his first year. Currently 8-8 with a 4 ERA. I’m using dynamic difficulty.

It seems like every ball is solidly hit. I’m not having much fun.

Re: Road To The Show Thread

Created 2 characters both on legand difficulty.

1st is a SP who is struggling. Has an ERA of 5.14 and is a wopping 2-7. He has had some solid outings but once he starts to struggle the inning gets out of hand.He is hoping the 2nd half of the season will be better and he can find his groove

2nd character is a Third Baseman, He is doing solid, his BA ranges between 280 and 310 depending on how he is playing. He has 1 HR, 9 BB, 13 Doubles, and 21 RBIs this season. They cant seem where they want him to hit though so he sometimes hits 1st, 3rd, 6th, 7th. He is hoping to make it up to AAA before the end of the year but only time will tell. He did have a bump in his career because he got benched for about 6 series for getting thrown out to much while stealing. (Blame this on the manager a little bit because I only stole when they told me to)
