Re: What happened?! WAYYY to many HRs.

I'm about 60 games into a season. Started on AS, but then quickly jumped up to the next level; HOF maybe (that's where I'm at now, at least)? Anyway, played about 60 games and league leader had 23 HR's, my top player with 14 or 15.

Until two nights ago. Flood gates opened, started hitting bombs with everyone. I've probably scored 14 runs/game over 7 or 8 games (zone hitting).

So I increased CPU pitcher control and that helped a bit as it makes taking pitches a lot harder, as they throw a lot more strikes on the edges of the zone. I find that it makes me move the target around the plate a lot more to make solid contact, too.

Even still, hit a few more bombs.

So, after reading through here, I'll decreasing off-speed pitch speed and solid contact, see if that works.

Obviously, player skill factors in greatly. But for me, Veteran Plus with slightly adjusted sliders is giving me really good results in games that I play.

For my personal abilities, once it bumps up to All Star, the CPU just becomes crazy overpowered. I can't even contimplate how difficult the highest difficulty settings would be for me, lol. I might not be able to get a single out.
Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.

Started by decreasing solid hits and it made a significant difference in the 1 game I played last night. Only hit one home run (but it was a HUGE 3 run shot in a tie game in the bottom of the 7th) and scattered 9 or 10 hits. Could have been the SP on the other team, but I doubt it. Also, I could have just been really tired. We'll have to see over a few more games.
