I can only suggest you at least run the power slider all the way to the left and try it. I’ve always played on default sliders and saw the problem with home runs, tried it
and it neutered the cpu. I then adjusted it up a bit to my liking.

Do you think it’s only the power slider or the timing as well?

Artman, I didn’t want to get slideritis so I just did the power. It’s a slider that is pretty dramatic in effect. It sort of surprised me. Now I don’t know how you or others pitch, but I’m pretty stingy when it comes to throwing strikes. I get a lot of cpu swings out of the zone because I’m not afraid to go there with a pitch.

One of the other main issues I’ve noticed this year so far is even great pitchers throw too many meatball pitches. This meatball pitches almost always end up being bombs too many times.

Isn’t there a slider for that for the cpu? Consistency maybe? I haven’t touched those. I have no problem walking batters. If I wasn’t such a hacker I’d also walk more. The cpu has picked up on the fact that I’m a sucker for the change up down out of the zone. You’re gonna find that happy spot, games too good to give up on.

Just did Kansas City 6, Toronto 2. Only two homers but still plenty of foul balls plus a scroebug/box score glitch that I made a separate post for.

In my honest opinion.. timing slider plays a bigger impact than anything else..

Most home runs on this years engine come from good timing ( PCI next) you can get good wood on a ball but being just early, just late ect... impacts alot even how you contact certain pitches in certain parts of the strike zone.

I like to have CPU timing at 1, I leave their power at 4 at least. But with the timing that low they actually have a good variance of good swings and bad swings rather than always being on time 98% for their swings

                  Really is simple though.
At default yes there are too many HR's. If you don't want to tweak sliders slightly nothing much anyone can do to help you??
                  If you do:
Lower timing slider a click or 2 - this reduces the HR's
Raise CPU consistency slider a click or 2- this will reduce the meatball pitches.

Your mileage may vary but changing just these 2 sliders should give you more realistic numbers.

Yea I’m going to try this. I tried playing an exhibition game against a buddy in the league and we tried playing on Legend and it still didn’t help. I will lower the timing and raise pitching consistency to see if it helps. Thanks

Normally I don't like messing with sliders either, but with the Show the Sliders are pretty effective.

There is a HR issue imo, but it's easily mitigated with some slider adjustments.

Same, I lowered the timing by 1 click and will report back if it helped.

I had two great ball games today. Colorado 4, Arizona 3. 3 home runs were hit and were all solos from the D-Backs. Second game was Mets 5, Expos-Senators 3 with only 2 homers. Both games the starting pitcher was the winning pitcher and the starter went 7 innings in both. It may have something to do with the ballpark. Whenever I play at the Rangers new ballpark it's home run derby and forget playing in the Polo Grounds as it's nothing but homers and inside the park homers.

Artman, if you want to do a real test, just to confirm, run those babies all The way down. That way you’ll be convinced if your level, ability doesn’t prove much by lowering it one click. I swear you’ll own the cpu.

Just had a shutout. Seattle 3-Boston 0. Only 1 home run. I couldn't believe how great Taijuan Walker is. 8 strong innings 0 runs, 5 hits, 1 walk, 3 strikeouts. I think overall it just takes timing and how many games you play what team, ballpark etc. I just leave the sliders alone and use Hall of Fame Hitting/Pitching.

What do you play with the power slider at? I’m going to lower it a click for myself and the cpu and see if that helps. I hadn’t played the game in a few days and had almost convinced myself that a lot of homers was just the nature of today’s game. Then I had a combined 4 home runs in the first inning when both pitchers were rated above 90. I just can’t handle that.
