I have 12 home runs through 7 games, high but not off the charts high. I’m 4th in baseball in total HRs and on pace for 278 which would be 5th all time but the top 4 are all from the 2019 season so maybe this isn’t too bad? Thinking I’m going to ride it out for the moment, I’m playing with the Padres in 2021 and I signed Ozuna. Thoughts?

Did some more retweeking after another 11 run first inning full of homers. I played St. Louis-Tampa Bay and was 9-8 in 11 innings. 6 homeruns total but other runs were scored on hits/doubles/sac fly/wild pitch. Still a plethora of foul balls but did get about 10-11 ground outs.Proud season ticket holder for the Oklahoma City ThunderComment

Re: What happened?! WAYYY to many HRs.
Okay I have a theory here. With this COVID-19 pandemic let’s just say I’ve had A LOT of time testing today lol. As in like 13 hours.
I’ve been playing HOF. I changed power to 4. Solid hits to 3 and foul frequency to 4
I’m still destroying the ball. Is there any chance this power surge has to do with timing more than it actually does power? Sds said they were rewarding more this year for perfect timing..when I get perfect/perfect it’s typically over the fence even with those major power adjustments I made. What have you guys seen?

Re: What happened?! WAYYY to many HRs.
Ok folks for what its worth and if anybody cares, I have some results from testing things that I thought I would share.
I have been playing for 4 days straight, from morning to night, so I have gotten a lot of games in. I have come to a couple of conclusions based on my play. These are just my opinions from my gameplay and I am not saying they are fact but just my experience.
First I have found reasons for the disparity in the power surge among players. I have found that the issue is not as apparent or even an issue in carry over saves, again not all just not the ones I have. I have also found that starting a new franchise after the last patch has completely removed the issue and the game for me, is playing much the same as it did day one.
I have tried testing all of this with 3 different rosters Bacons, Default and the last Sony updated roster. The results have all been the same. Franchises started before the patch have the power issue. Franchises after the patch are playing well. So I am pushing on with my restarted franchises.
If this helps you great. If not then I am sorry was just trying to help with some things I had found in my time with the game.

Re: What happened?! WAYYY to many HRs.
Not sure if you have tested this, or if you can answer. But, I started a franchise before the patch, but was working on equipment and what not for players, and haven’t actually played a game yet. So the franchise was started before the patch, but no games were played. Would you know if I will have the power issue? I’ve literally spent a week editing players and really don’t want to go through that again if it isn’t needed. In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Re: What happened?! WAYYY to many HRs.
Well, finally played my first franchise game. Play options like I’ve always used. AS default sliders. Thru 6 inning CPU has 6 homers, me 3. What have they done? I put the pitch ball marker on to make sure I wasn’t throwing everything over the plate. Didn’t seem to matter.Last edited by KnightTemplar; 03-25-2020, 11:04 AM.Comment

Re: What happened?! WAYYY to many HRs.
Using Mike Lowe slider set, I played 2 games last night in my franchise me as Baltimore playing the Redsox and no HR's was hit in either game.
give his sliders a go, good baseball with his sliders..and pitching wise, You really have to set the batter up, mix it up.Washington Redskins

Re: What happened?! WAYYY to many HRs.
I'm starting to agree with what others have said. Play 80+ games. Some games have been fine, others pitched gets knockoud early but the game still ends 6-3 with only 1-2 homeruns, others are homerun fests 19-4 with 11 bombs etc. Someone one here said just to leave sliders alone and go for it with ya already got. I'm hoping/guessing this is the right solution.Proud season ticket holder for the Oklahoma City ThunderComment

Played a game today Kansas City beat Philadelphia 8-6. No homers, all runs scored via base hits, sac flies. Just played California-Colorado and the Rockies won 8-5 and all runs were scored via homers.Proud season ticket holder for the Oklahoma City ThunderComment

Re: What happened?! WAYYY to many HRs.
Starting my franchise yesterday. I'm 5 games in and there is 25 hr between me and CPU. Averaging 5 a game. Even hearing announcers talk about hr derby.
I saw the same thing when I played through MTO. There is too many HR both directions.
I play HOF zone and HOF classic.

Re: What happened?! WAYYY to many HRs.
What I have found is their is a HUGE spike in Home Runs in AL games. you might be saying... well that is usual in the real world as well.. but I have noticed even in places like Cincinnati which is a homer ballpark doesn't have any, and Tampa is having as many home runs as NYY
So I noticed there is a bit different between AL and NL as far as home runs are concernedComment

Re: What happened?! WAYYY to many HRs.
Anybody have a tip to get the CPU to hit MORE HRs on alll star classic pitching? I have hitting figured out on HOF. I don’t like HOF classic pitching because I don’t like how the cpu rarely swings and misses, but I need the cpu to have more grit on offense. My first thought was bump up cpu power to 6 or 7. Thoughts?

Re: What happened?! WAYYY to many HRs.
I may try moving up to legend hitting. I have 86 hits in my first 6 games.
There is an average 5 hr. Hit per game. Hitting is too easy for me. Although I average over 14 hits a game a majority of my runs are scored off the home run.
The perfect-perfect "feels" good but is too easy to accomplish. Loving playing I just want to see home runs and offense toned down.
