It needs to be better. Talking more about stats would be an easy fix and far less repetitive than hearing Mark DeRosa talk about how the game has changed or how he couldn't hit the slider.

I feel like this series has gotten worse this gen,. very little meaningful updates, Commentary is littered with issues, worst then it's ever been. This franchise needs new ideas badly. Especially for RTTS.

Someone pointed out Matt's "if it stays fair it's gone!!" on a ball that tailed foul right off the bat, but here's the most annoying one...who the hell is the one who says 'there's NO way the pitcher is gonna throw 3 straight fastballs" and then the pitcher throws a fastball?!


Also, I think the accuracy of some commentary has gotten worse since I started playing on 2012.

Yup had that happen to me too😂😂😂
Pitcher throws me a meatball down the middle on a long at bat and I smack that thing out of the park. One that’s real bad is when your playing in Spring Training and if you play at the team parks and they say more Cactus League baseball from Arizona and your playing in Chicago or any place else. Too many mistakes and compound that with it being really repetitive makes it stale. Sideline reports always say the same things and after almost a full year in franchise the game gets stale because of the commentary.

DeRosa is one of the worst things to ever happen to this series. He's awful.

Two man booth is all that's needed. keep it simple son.

gimme Vasgersian for play-by-play, hire Tim Kitzrow for color and replace Kirby St. John as commentary script writer. easy peasy lemon squeezey, problem solved

I like when they wonder which pitch will come in next on the 3-2 count and I’ve already swung, made contact and popped out. Happens rather frequently. Even having some shorter lines would help.

At the bare minimum, they need to cut DeRosa loose. He's been the weakest link since he was introduced. Even in real-life, he's not a particularly endearing analyst.

I could certainly live with a two-man booth of Matty V and Plesac, but with a new generation (and cross-platform releases) on the horizon, this would also be as good a time as ever to make other changes to the booth. I don't mind Plesac all that much, but I wouldn't be opposed to him getting replaced as well. I think Eduardo Perez would be a good fit for that role. I've really enjoyed him on ESPN's KBO broadcasts.

Though I'd be shocked if they did so in the near future, I also wouldn't mind moving on from Matty V. Names like Dave Fleming and Jason Benetti come to mind as possible play-by-play replacements.

Since they've worked together in real-life on ESPN's Statcast Wild Card broadcasts, maybe Benetti and Perez would be a good pair for the future.

I really liked the year (2 years ago?) where they added Harold Reynolds. He sounded really natural and his voice was very different from the rest which is good. I thought from that year the commentary would finally move forward. Too bad we only had him for 1 year.
