I usually don’t get too worked up over bugs/issues. I am in SW Development (wrote code for a while and am now in project management) so I understand the development process and complexities and SDS has usually been pretty good with fixing issues. Combine that with the added complication of working from home and the general temperature of the country right now, I’m even more likely to forgive bugs. I can take the blue ring around the fielders, the stats OSD issues, the crowd noise dropouts, etc.
That being said, I’m an auto field, manual throw, auto baserunner and this has made it extremely difficult for me to play. I made it through 3 innings and had to quit. I’m too far down this path to try and learn how to manually field. I bought the early release edition and have played for hours everyday since launch day and think it is one of the best playing editions of the game.
Like I said, I’m usually pretty forgiving with things especially with COVID-19. I hope they can quickly fix this issue* and this one only and then hold off on any additional updates until their situation can stabilize and then get back to sending out updates.
* If this is not an issue but a design decision, I’m totally against it...
