Re: Pitch control vs pitch consistency

Wanted to bump this thread because I've recently done a bunch of thorough testing on pitch consistency based on some issues that popped up on the long term results of my sliders.

Based on my testing so far, pitcher consistency effects 3 things.

    1. How far the pitch will miss on bad inputs.

    2. How often a pitch will break late and "sharply" vs an early or obvious break.

    3. How often HR/9 will impact the hit.

All the factors are also impacted by the pitchers attributes.

Turning consistency up to max won't prevent home runs, and turning it down to 0 won't prevent pitchers from having sharp, late breaking pitches, however over time it will have a dramatic impact on the ratio of these things.

I tested consistency exclusively for about 3 hours in my control setup in practice mode, and I did not see it have any impact on the control of pitches made with good inputs.
