The one area it really effects my decision making though is guys who are reliant on speed. I mean, if a guy is relying on speed for his offence and he has to start out of the right-handed batters box, that's just leaving free distance on the table. Although a good drag bunter can lean into their start, so there are positives.

Question for this thread though: Does the ideal first baseman throw left or right?

I've played a long time with a lefty as my starting first baseman, but recently I've "allowed" more righties to man the base, and I'm starting to see that both have advantages and disadvantages.
I would typically say left but with the new animation where the first baseman does the spin grab and throw to 2nd I don't think it really matters on the game.

In every version of The Show that I've played before this year's, I always felt that hitting with lefties was easier, for whatever reason. I also always took many more walks with lefties, in an extreme way, and would always tend to hit many more oppo HRs with left handers.

However, this year that's not been the case. My lefty batters (including Rizzo and Schwarber) are actually hitting at a signifigantly lower batting average than my good right handed batters. And also, all of my players are taking many more walks than ever before, so that benefit for the left handers is now gone.

By in large, it feels like something under the hood was altered that's effected how my players hit and respond in a pretty major way.
Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.

Try hitting with Aaron Judge and see if you still feel that way. He is the one player I really look forward to hitting with.
