For some reason I'm really dialed in with Matt Joyce.

Re: Underrated/Surprising Players Thread
I'm in early June in my franchise and the current MVP front runners are Jesse Winker and Jorge Soler, both of which I found surprising. The Reds are currently in 1st place by 4 games and KC is in 2nd place, 2GB of Min.Comment

That's funny, he's the #3 MVP right now in my franchise.Comment

Re: Underrated/Surprising Players Thread
I haven’t played much but had a game playing with him and he’s been hitting away. I think 3 hits in a game. Also the other day, cpu vs cpu, Chris Owings who had under .200 BA last season went 4 for 5 with 4rbi, mvp of the game lol.

Re: Underrated/Surprising Players Thread
Mike Tauchman is bizarro superman in this game.
Power. Elite patience. No splits. And this late 90s batting stance that reminds you of Brad Fullmer.
He's the type of role player that could take a Jose Bautista leap in The Show universe -- an out-of-nowhere 3-4 year run of mashing.
In a recent Pirates franchise, he was hitting .444 as the everyday left fielder through June!Comment

Re: Underrated/Surprising Players Thread
I moved Chris Davis to platoon leftfield so Mancini could man first. I guess it's coincidence but Davis is crushing again. it was slow at first but recently I took the platoon/interim designation off him and for the last week I have less trepidation about his $23 million pricetag.
I sent Valaika back to Colorado before I went into franchise mode. maybe I mistaked but I love Hanser at second and Iglesias at short, and Núñez and Ruiz at third, there's just no room at the inn.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: Underrated/Surprising Players Thread
Caulfield -- speaking of underrated players, Rio Ruiz is surprisingly good in this game.
I've played exhibitions with the O's and Ruiz always stands out. He reminds me of a young JT Snow -- gap power, patience and defense.
The O's actually have some intriguing players. Mike Elias is building something over there.Comment

pitching-wise I haven't enjoyed a Baltimore pitcher like John Means since Ubaldo's first year as an O.
and I like to think it's me turning the O's into W's, not EliasOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Have you added to the O's pitching staff or rolled with the same real-life staff? I was close to starting an O's franchise but never figured out the pitching, especially in that meat grinder of a division.Comment

Absolutely lol. I also like the challenge of turning rebuilding teams into winners.

Re: Underrated/Surprising Players Thread
In my Red Sox franchise - Mitch Moreland is having a ridiculous season for me.
Moreland was hitting .169 with 2 HR & 9 RBI through the first 29 games of the season and I was on the verge of moving Michael Chavis over to be my starting first baseman when suddenly Moreland's bat woke up and he has absolutely raked since then.
I am now 147 games into my season and Moreland is hitting .308 with a team leading 45 HR & 110 RBI
He has basically hit 43 HR and 101 RBI over the last 117 games
Here are some highlights of his season:
