When playing set the injury slider to 8. When simming, drop it back to 4.

      Re: Injuries

Have they messed up the injured lists? I was under the impression the ten day is gone but I see a ten and fifteen day dl. I’ve had two guys get hurt and I only the the option of the 15 or 60 day, now Michael Conforto breaks his shin and it gives me the option of 10 or 60 days

The 15 is just for pitchers; regular fielders still have the 10 (changed this season).

            Re: Injuries

I play games with injury set to 10 amd when I sim games around the league and advance to the next day I have it set to 6.

Very fair and as realistic as we can get from the game.

Be careful what you wish for when using my personal approach to injuries.

You will get nagging ones 1-6 days, mild ones 1-2 weeks, medium 3-4 weeks and majors 1-2 months, 2-3 months and the dreaded outnfor the season 6 plus months.

I lined a screaming ball with Julio Rodriquez off Blake Snell's head (now with the Asstros), it was clocked at 110 mph off the bat and Snell ended up withering on the ground in pain, and had to leave the game. He ended up being placed on the 60 day DL with a fractured skull. I legit felt bad for him lol. This not 2 weeks after they traded Yordan Alvarez for him. Who is hitting .388 with 38 HR and 102 RBI in the 2nd week of July, the following season.

                Re: Injuries

I'm using 6 for both played and simmed games. It's a really nice sweet spot; I have had 7 or 8 guys out so far from played games and I'm only in Mid-May (I think I switched in mid-April). I've also seen a few injuries in that same period to CPU players. The injury durations have been fantastic as well....varying widely from a minor injury for a couple of games to multi-month injuries.

I’m not one to restart games, but I did restart over an injury to Cole. On a strikeout pitch, a box pops up that says he took a terrifying shot to the head, he was conscious but the injury was serious. On a strike out.

Same experience and I have my injury slider at 6. Could it be depending on who’s roster we are all using?

It depends more on player durability ratings, so yes, if a roster does a poor job of separating-out injury risk players, then yes, you could have issues.

My SS got turned around and went into some Auto run and missed a fly ball. It ended up bouncing off his head and he's out 2 weeks with a concussion. Not as cool as judges though

                          Re: Injuries

I would actually recommend 7 (and if you are not playing every game, you can leave it there all the time) if you are looking for a realistic number of injuries. For those saying 4, 5, or even 6, for simmed games, I would point out that most of us (myself included) are so unused to realistic injury rates in sports games that it seems over the top when it happens. If you look at real life, though, the number of injured players is quite high.

When you are changing the injury slider for summer games is it just your team or every team? So when I sim every other game except for mine, do I then change the slider and then back again for my game? Seems easy enough, but tedious. I will inevitably forget, so many workarounds to think about.

I’ve only had two injuries and I’m on June 13th. But both were bad. Michael Conforto lost for the year sliding into second, tore his MCL and Jacob degrom tore a finger ligament and missed a month and a half. I would like to see more short term injuries. In real life if you follow daily transactions there’s always a butt load of pitchers getting 10 day DL stints. I never see any of that

                                Re: Injuries

I was getting great injury totals and variety early on. Something happened in one of the patches and it dried up. I haven't picked the game up in a week.

One reason was the fact that I did not have one single injury in year 2 of.my franchise by the end of May and I want to add a DH to NL teams.
