Ive seen that too, the guy on first retreating back on a ground ball... Like wtf, its a force play, you literally HAVE to go to second.

Yeah, this was a problem way before the latest patch. I had issues with auto-baserunning not working properly in the previous two editions I played, 16 and 17. Seemed fine before that.

With each patch, I eagerly await to see if it's been fixed. Now I've given up hope that it will ever be corrected and just have to live with it, using some combination of auto and manual baserunning.

Biggest frustration is when runners don't move at the crack of the bat when there are two outs, or when the runner at third doesn't move on what should easily be a sac fly and you don't realize it until it's too late to send him home.

Yes that is painful...he has to advance on ground ball with bases loaded. I assume this was AB?

I’ve noticed this as well. I had a runner on first and second. Laced one into the gap only to see everybody only moved up one base

This kind of thing really makes me wonder what they are doing to the game that just randomly has so many different problems for so many people. Are they making it too complicated with perks and other crap that they can't keep it all in line???

Baserunning has been terrible for me the whole year so far.

Yeah I felt the same way as I saw a few bad things before the latest patch , but now what a mess as I been screwed out of many big innings and the CPU also to be honest . You can really see it bad on bloopers with runners just freezing or retreating to soon , bad reactions and reads but I will just deal with it till its patched again as I'm having too much fun.

The last few games I've played, its gotten to the point where I only score on home runs. I get men on base, and even if I hit a clear, deep double into the gap, they're moving one base at a time, and making stupid choices. Its absolutely not what I want to get out of the experience.

At the same time, I seem to be getting far fewer singles to the outfield that fall in front of the fielders, or in the zone where they aren't standing. All or nothing at bats all game long. Its broken.

Base running in this game is just crap and I don’t know what the hell is taking SDS so long to fix the issue. When I make a clear hit I have baserunners turning back and to first base and it’s cost me games in franchise time and time again. SDS just needs to fix it and stop keeping people in the dark about weather or not they are going to to do it. Fix the damn gameplay issues and make that the most important thing!!!

I have auto running / fielding on and I haven’t seen any of these issues since the patch.

The last few games I've played, its gotten to the point where I only score on home runs. I get men on base, and even if I hit a clear, deep double into the gap, they're moving one base at a time, and making stupid choices. Its absolutely not what I want to get out of the experience.

At the same time, I seem to be getting far fewer singles to the outfield that fall in front of the fielders, or in the zone where they aren't standing. All or nothing at bats all game long. Its broken.

I can still knock them in all ways but it seems the CPU can mostly only go yard and thank heaven the last few games I haven't had many crazy situations but I have had to jump in and tag up or advance manually so stay alert of players just stopping on the base paths
and not even on close plays ?

I've brought this up in the past and it sounds ridiculous but It's all about how you're holding your controller. You will disable auto base running if you ever so slightly press the L1/R1 or the L2/R2 buttons. I noticed last year that my fingers would press these buttons accidentally when I geared up for a swing. Ever since I moved my fingers away from resting on top of these buttons to below and off I've had zero issues. Sounds stupid but this is 100% the reason.

Been playing this game before some people on here were born. It all started when SDS introduced AB and manual override. It is a great feature and I love it. It is usually tuned pretty well each year on release. When they add patches to fix other things, some patches affect this override. The end result is the override occurs even when Shark457 says you don't touch anything else. I have put out youtube videos in years past showing this glitch. Trust me...SDS knows about it.

I didn't suddenly forget how to hold a controller..my carpal tunnel agrees lol.
