How is the cpu offense in relation to before this patch offline? I've only played two games and my friend played two games, all on legend, and the cpu pci seems larger and they're crushing everything close.

Same as pre patch

I’ve played 7 games since patch and don’t see a difference. My last game was a complete game shutout.

Did anyone else's settings totally reset after this update? Somehow I'm on the "Beginner" profile with meter pitching in my Franchise. I had settings just right before.

Yes happened to me but BEFORE I installed the patch. I was mid game and went to put game in sleep mode and it didn't do it normally. When went to resume I had lost the data and got that profile. Fortunately, only lost the saved game, all my other saves and settings were still there.

Unfortunately it’s starting to look like sim sports games are dead. I got the same feeling when I played 2K this year and now with show showing more and more concern for DD it feels the same.

I simply have to disagree with this in regards to The Show.

Offline I have never ever played a better representation (on a console) of the game of baseball than The Show 20. It simply has never been better. I have played every game in this series dating back to 2009 when I made the leap from the now far outdated and vastly inferior MVP 2005 (sorry but that game is nothing and nowhere like the simulation I get on MLB The Show 20, in fact I popped it in on my old XBOX last week and shut it off after 2 innings lmao). I am not talking modes....I am talking game play. Strictly game play and the pitcher/batter showdown which is the heart and soul of baseball.

The Show 20 nails this.

Hitting is simply divine. Pitching as well. Fielding for me will never be perfect in a video game. If you want those gorgeous animations there is give and take. That is why I auto field and manual throw off line. Obviously online I field......and fielding is actually never been better on this series as it is this season. Again my opinion and I know plenty here disagree.

But I simply can’t stop playing this game. I seriously see myself not stopping till MLB 21 on the PS5.

The release was rough for certain guys like me who play with a clean screen. But they got it all cleaned up quickly in spite of the crazy times we have been living in and they should be commended.

And speaking of online gameplay. Our OS DD league is going incredibly smooth. Gameplay is really good online (finally) with very few hiccups and disconnects. Custom Leagues is great. We all play clean screen Directional/Classic and are having a great time.

I agree 100%. I’m a strictly offline player and I’ve never been more addicted to a baseball game before - including MVP 05.

Sure, some of it probably has to do with not having real baseball. But I think the top reason is that it’s such a good representation of baseball with only relatively minor slider adjustments.

Ok, maybe it's just me, maybe it was time for a losing streak, not sure, but this latest patch has, in my opinion, absolutely changed the gameplay. The cpu pci is absolutely, horrendously enormous now. They'll still strike out, but their pci is so big that they are able to make solid contact now all the time.
And when I say the pci is huge, I legit mean it's larger than the entire strike zone. They can say whatever they want in the patch notes, but this latest patch absolutely made pci larger offline.

This is for Christian Stewart, the #9 hitter on the Detroit Tigers. He hit. 233 last year with a - 0.3 WAR.

I've found the game to be very frustrating since this latest patch. I have a lot of warning track flyouts while the CPU gets very cheap hits. I also am finding my pitchers missing middle/middle a ton. I would honestly prefer to see the CPU squaring up balls to get hits rather than weak ground balls directly over third base while my defense is shifted (every time). Manual baserunning is awful and the CPU guns out runners at a ridiculous rate. I still think this is the best baseball game ever made by far, but still is a little frustrating at times.
