Back on 2K11 they had a great way of doing it between periods. It was literally 15 seconds but fit the narrative of the season......and it was skippable more importantly and non revenue producing....meaning zero product placement.

It is a non starter for me LOL.
Madden has done it (the Snickers/Papa John's ads that showed-up on the scoreboard between quarters that make your mouth water for some gaming food, lol). NCAA 14 did it with the Coke Zero and Nissan. Did EA get money for this? No freakin' idea. But it was there...there IS precedent.

Full-bore ads like the annoying ones on YouTube...heck no...I'd never go for that either. Product adverts integrated within the presentation like "Tonight's MLB: The Show presentation is brought to you by __________" is a different angle.

Even if they did that though AND made money off of it, I can't imagine it'd be meaningful enough to push the higher-ups to go, "Hey, franchise mode is an important revenue stream - make it better".

Frankly speaking, the best approach is inclusion of franchise specific DLC, new stadiums, uniforms and maybe even something like SDS-created fictional uniforms for re-branding. Inclusion of franchise mode "shortcuts" is not unprecedented either (NCAA did this with "Timesaver" packages) and while die-hards wouldn't use them, a lot of folks might.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

But from my point of view, the front end is only 10% of the mode...it's the 90% (in-game) that falls completely apart for 2k (in my opinion) and that excels for MLB (again, IMO). If you actually sim games (I do not), the relative importance of the front end might increase for you and I could see why you might weigh those types of ancillary items more importantly.

I don't want to de-rail this any further on this comparison...but THAT is why I feel the way I do.

I agree that actual gameplay is much better on The Show compared the 2k.

If we all think the non skippable Heidi Whatney last year and the intrusive/game flow breaking Heidi were bad this year I could imagine the reaction to in game ads.

I'd be okay if they had real life pop up ads on the scorebar or some OSDs throughout the game as it is realistic. But non skippable commercials are not going to be very well recieved

I like the OP’s idea. Also, have real life advertisements all over the stadiums that pay SDS a little $$$. If another company wants in or one wants out, update the advertisements with patches.

I wouldn't mind ads in the stadiums. They aren't intrusive like a popup or video.

I’d be ok with ads during load screens when you launch the game but anything during gameplay would be unacceptable in my opinion.

I’m also ok with in stadium ads that would make the stadiums even more realistic.

I've said for years Nike Rawlings UnderArmour Wilson, all of them that have their product in the Show should be paying Sony just like a network tv station gets paid for commercials between breaks in their tv shows.

I would hate commercials and I would seriously consider not buying if I had to watch a 10 second non skip able commercial.
