    Wind impact on homeruns?

With opening day here I found myself inspired to fire up the show for the first time in 3 months. I honestly gave up on it due to some gameplay issues that really made it hard to enjoy for me. Way too many homeruns! I hit way too many and the cpu also hits a few too many but not as many as me (Yankees on legend stride zone analog)

So first game of my franchise reboot.. 4 homeruns for my team and the orioles hit 3.
Not a great impression leading me to believe the issue of too many homers is still there even after multiple patches since I last played.

What has caused this spike in this years game? Can the wind slider help? It was blowing out 10mph for the game I just played

Play more than one game and see if it’s a pattern. If so, lower the power sliders.

I had played like 30 games or so prior to my 2 month hiatus and it was the same thing

Wind does have a big effect on home runs. I lower it to 2 or 3 max and it makes a big difference. At default, you will get a hr fest.

Try altering sliders to see if that helps any.

I play with everything at default and don't see the abundance of homeruns others have seen. Some games are slugfests and other times I'll go a game or even two without seeing a single homerun.

I'd try the wind slider and/or the solid hits slider to start.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Ok I’ll give that a try, cause game 2 of my season had 5 hr between the two teams.

I think that the wind slider is part of the equation to tone down power to a realistic level. I'm about 75 games into a franchise and have CPU power at 4 (-1), user power at 3 and wind at 4.

I like the results I'm getting. As information I play on veteren level.

                Ok, here goes.

Power effects bat exit velocity ceilings, both how high they can go and how often they proc.

Contact effects bat exit velocity floors. The lower your contact the lower the bat exit velocity floor is and the more often it'll proc.

Wind effects the ball's carry once in the air. It has just as much potential to have a positive effect as a negative one.

Your issue may not be power or wind, it could be contact pushing your floors up too high, causing too much bat exit velocity consistency.

Also consider looking at the solid hits slider, which impacts launch angles.

Too many homeruns may be a symptom, but you need to look for the cause.

I’ve played thousands of The Show games, hundreds this year, and still don’t see consistency in sliders.

Difficulty - All Start (Hitting and Pitching)

                          Directional Hitting - Classic Pitching

Leave everything at DEFAULT besides User SP & RP Stamina = 6 and Pitch Control = 6

                          WIND at 0

Trust me you will not be disappointed in your outcomes!! I have played over 300 games with this set on various rosters. I have also used this same set for every single MLB The Show game since 2016 and LOVE IT. Only thing I have really changed from time to time is fielder speed and reaction but I have had it set for 3 full seasons at default now.

Wind at 0 literally turns wind off lol, I would think it would be on and the slider would represent the impact to the game. Either way game is back on the shelf unfortunately ..
I really don’t see how anyone using the Yankees isn’t hitting a crazy number of homeruns a this year. I don’t enjoy tuning sliders either so I’m sol.

I hit 330 my first season with the Yankees with reduced contact and power sliders.
