Wtf u hit 69 homeruns with Torres !? And with reduced power and contact ? Wow there is no hope then. I said it before and I’ll say it again the game has taken a step back, these issues were never there. I’ve always had realistic hitting stats on default legend

Re: Wind impact on homeruns?
You actually can play on your normal sliders, or default etc I suggest all star, but turn down timing to 2 and u will be fine or look at my sliders in the forums try them for 10-20 games report back.
You can thank me later lol j/kYoutube: https://youtube.com/@mlbnetworkleagu..._hz5M86fl-FbW4

Re: Wind impact on homeruns?
The biggest issue for many...rosters.
If you play with the 2020 rosters, I'm sorry.
They just have too many players with blazing red hot zones. You time a swing well with a guy in his hot zone, look out. Why do people mash with Torres? Look at his hot zones in this year's roster. Look across the league, SO many players with bright hot zones (even in comparison to last year's roster). Better crafted custom rosters NOT based on the 2020 roster, like Bacon's or the full minors 1987 roster, have far fewer bright hot zones for players and play a lot more calmly. (The other main culprit is a significant drop-off of 50% fewer high-end pitchers in the 2020 roster).
The best solution (if you "have to" use a current roster) is to find SOME WAY to disrupt your own timing. That can be the timing slider (to a degree - but a perfect swing is a perfect swing - that alone can't fix it), pitch speed slider differentials, or changing your camera. Sure, lowering power can help a LITTLE, but it detracts from the ability of below-average power guys to hit any HRs. You can lower wind, but is that even acceptable for people who care about realism?
It is what it is....but there's the underlying cause.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Yup that sounds like a very real possibility. The game is so unbalanced.. it’s a shame

Re: Wind impact on homeruns?
No, the game is fine - just use a good roster like bacon's fictional and you're golden (or fire up a carryover from previous years).Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Re: Wind impact on homeruns?
I disagree, the game is not fine if I have to use a fictional roster lol. I shouldn't have to use a 19 roster either and miss out on any of the new rookies with audio. Perhaps they can balance their game... Once again competition is sorely needed IMO, not a users responsibility to find hacks or workaroundsComment

Re: Wind impact on homeruns?
I put mine all the way up as well. It helps diversify the games themselves, which is awesome.
I forget which version of the game it was (I think '13), but with the wind cranked up it was possible to see extreme wind speeds. I forget if the number was like 20 MPH or 40 MPH or whatever, but it was so funny watching replays of the wind carrying the ball out of play, either for a foul ball or a home run. They don't really allow those speeds in the game anymore (and the wind is programmed to work differently with the slider, which I can explain in detail later if you'd like me to), but having it at 10 gives the games the more diversity that I want.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Wind impact on homeruns?
I'm playing on All-Star.
Timing at 0
Foul Frequency at 0
CPU Strike Frequency at 0
Pitch Control at 10
Pitch Consistency at 10
I left Wind at 5 (default)
I'm convinced the new perfect-perfect messed things up. It just happens far too often. Timing at 0 largely fixes that.
The other issue is too many pitches left out over the middle of the plate. The computer still throws strikes at 0, but the meatballs are greatly reduced.Comment
