My point is that I hope the series does not begin to suffer because they can no longer just focus on 1 or two different consoles at a time. Spreading their resources thin. The games might be more glitchy. But hopefully not, hopefully they stay on the same path to quality that we’ve known for over 13 years.

Are you concerned about the series now that it’s multi platform?
I’ve been curious to know what people think about this. I’ve been wondering if SDS is planning to increase the number of developers to handle the other consoles.

Re: Are you concerned about the series now that it’s multi platform?
I'm a glass is half full guy. until I see things get worse, I'm remaining optimistic that this will strengthen sales and make the Show in general, and franchise specifically, better. I'm tired of Waiting for Greatness. it's long past time for ‘‘Greatness has Arrived’’. but I am acutely aware that things could get worse for franchise, which is my own real reason to buy the Show yearly. if that does happen I'm mentally prepared to replay Show 14 through 20 or 21 and have plenty good baseball at my fingertips. still, I believe multi-platforms are a good thing. like all things, time will tell the taleOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Not concerned at all.
Series has been solid year in and year out and I don't foresee that changing despite the number of consoles the game is developed for.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

It'll feel weirder to be in a less exclusive club, and I always thought this game was developed to take advantage of every Sony system's specifications, but no I'm not worried.
I am hopeful it can even improve upon things, especially if it ever comes to PC. I'm also hoping to see more MLB games again someday, though. I do feel like that kind of competition will breed some excellence for all games like it used to a couple of generations ago.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Shoot, I just realized there may be this half of OS that has never posted in this forum before since they were always on Xbox, Nintendo, PC, etc. and suddenly it'll double the population here and cause exactly what you said... some discourse.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Are you concerned about the series now that it’s multi platform?
I'm not concerned. If anything I'd think that the best version would, even if only slightly be the PlayStation version since the team would be more familiar with that architecture. PC could possibly be better because of the ability to mod. Xbox could end up being a port that has good years and bad based on the amount of effort going into it. The best option would be to have separate team members that work exclusively to make sure everything works perfectly no matter the platform. Maybe that's how it works already though. *shrug*
Console wars are still a thing? I thought that was relegated to the dust bin of the late 00's. Have the youths taken over the "war" or are the old guard still keeping the war going? I've never owned an Xbox just because I started with PS and never had a reason to switch. Always thought arguing over which billion dollar company was best was dumb for me it's more familiarity vs loyalty to a brand."Listen son, you only have enough runs when you’re showering after a win."Comment

Re: Are you concerned about the series now that it’s multi platform?
I think the community will grow, but it won't be double. Plenty of multi console homes and a ton of baseball centric gamers jumped to PS4 for good reason. but it will be n interesting turn.
I hope Sony will make the game open to crossplay, because that would improve the online matchmaking by a lot. It should be a staple of every third party sports game. And now that The Show essentially is, it ought to also.Comment

I had a PS4 for a couple years and played it. It's a great game, but I tried two versions, and neither stuck with me. Still glad I had the PS4 for a bit, getting an opportunity to check out some games.

I was being sarcastic my first time through just talking about the current OS population only (like seeing a lot more blue names in here and such), but I do think you'll be seeing a lot more newly registered members next year who have kind of jumped on board for the first time. That is, unless they all flock to Sony's boards instead.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Are you concerned about the series now that it’s multi platform?
I still wonder how this deal came to be. Like it's a SONY exclusive MLB probably stepped in and must have really really pulled some strings to get this deal done.
Will SDS be working on the other console versions or will they outsource that to another studio? All they've worked on has been Sony consoles. I'd imagine that conversation was awkward for them Sony tells them hey you gotta make an Xbox version now.Comment
