The players who opted out of the season this year due to COVID concerns are still part of the MLBPA. I would be extremely shocked if they weren't on the default roster in 2021.

Typically the only time a vet who misses a season or more is missing from the game is due to them opting to play overseas or independent ball and therefore are removed from the player's association.

yeah, Johan Santana and Cliff Lee were in the game for a couple years after their last game, because they hadn't officially retired and sent whatever paperwork it is they send to the mlbpa

if it has any merit, I hope it's just for the ps5. very much hopeful for at least a late March ps4 Show 21. back in 2014, I played the first few months of Show 14 on the ps3. I had bought my ps4 back in December of 2013 and didn't really move the majority of my gaming over to the ps4 until December 2014. at the time I was really upset there would be no NCAA football on the ps4. if it hadn't been for the Show on ps4, my gaming days would have decreased to weekend hobby only. thank the maker for the Show!

I have no issue if it is July for PS5 version as long as the PS4 version keeps us going till then and a simple file transfer

my only issue is that we will no doubt be made to buy the game twice like in 2014 when lots of companies out there are giving free updates. sports games don't seem to want to do that.

OP makes a good point.

It's almost Thanksgiving and there still isn't an MiLB schedule. Many teams, even in AAA, don't know who their parent club will be next season. So I think it's very possible that SIE (?) is waiting for MLB to get everything in order before they put out the game.

Hell, at this rate, MiLB could be out for another year. I hope to God that I'm wrong. Just trying to temper my expectations.

with the new post season having 8 teams Now (hate the format that a under 500 team can make it now but that's another story) I wonder if this completely changes the way carry over franchises will go

All I can say is that the 60 game season sucked in so many ways. I hated it. I was over the crap before it started and when it did it was all to late for me to be interested in the season. they better sort their crap out now unlike last year fighting for 3 months. where we could have at least gone 100 games for a season.

Nothing confirmed so far, either 21 or 22.
