I can't wait. Hopefully we'll see some new and smoother animations, sense of urgency by outfielders when playing the ball off the wall. (that's probably my biggest gripe with the game)

I'd like to see the hitting and pitching be more consistent. The amount of very late jammed hits the CPU gets when pitched inside is infuriating at times.

Love the game but there are some areas that need to be tightened up.

I'm hoping us XBOXers are able get in there this year. I've dabbled in The Show here and there but since I don't use PS, I've never really stuck with it.

So Here's to hoping we get it and maybe I can devote a lot more time to it. I miss baseball. Super Mega Baseball is great and all. But I would really like to get a MLB game again.

Also, I'm really hoping that SDS will add more of a real time presentation to the game as well. Get rid of canned cut scenes and just let everything play out real time. And let broadcast be a true broadcast. No more cutting it off before the catcher throws the ball back to the pitcher. This game is gorgeous and should be allowed to breathe. I love just sitting back and watching the game in all its beauty between batters. Baseball is a gorgeous game and it should be treated as such. There's nothing like being at a game and just taking everything in.

A 9 of 10. Hoping RTTS gets better. Maybe add a story like nba2k does.

Can't really say I am all that excited for it. Don't have next gen console yet, but can't even say I am excited for the PS4 version either. May just skip this year, but maybe once we get some info my excitement level would increase, especially if franchise gets a little more attention this year.

Not really, because sports games these days are primarily focused on their card-collecting modes, making the developers less likely to offer significant improvements in graphics and game engine.

Listen, we could've had a 99% perfect simulation of real baseball for 10 years now if that had been the prime focus, but it's not. Same with the other sports games. Fortunately The Show is the best of a very lukewarm sports genre.

That's where I'm at. I don't intend to buy a ps5 and it would take something amazing for me to buy one. I bought a ps4 on the first day they were available specifically to play the Show but I doubt the jump from 4 to 5 will be as big as the jump from 3 to 4.

I have a ps5, and after playing nba 2k21 I quite honestly think this is one of the biggest jumps we have had from playstation generations throughout the years. The loading times, lighting on a 4k tv, and the way different materials look are night and day from the ps4 to the ps5. Also the duel sense controller is very underrated and won't know until you have felt one in your hand with its capabilities.

Have to agree with that. I came from 2k on the base PS4 and the first time I played it on the PS5 I was blown away by the upgrade the moment I saw the players arriving at the arena. Lighting and details are way improved and after 6 weeks I'm still amazed by how the light reflects on the floor and shows you the structure of the wood or how the sweat builds up on the players. Of course that doesn't improve the gameplay, but it adds to the overall feel of the game.

What could impact the gameplay is the Dual Sense. I was sceptical at first, but the triggers and that the vibration definitely add a new dimension. I hope they'll offer us an option to pitch with the triggers, should be very interesting when the pitcher gets tired or stressed.

Still waiting for a Ps5 ( hopefully by spring)...but The Show I believe will come through as they always do.
Hoping the Baserunning will be fixed perhaps a separate Baserunner attribute or something to that affect.

But with MLB the Show, for me anyhow, it’s the most apprehensive and exciting when I get my hands on it.
SDS does a very good job in immersion and feel for the game, I don’t think they’ll disappoint.

I’m mostly just excited for a new game.
Considering SCEA never really wows us in the first year of a new console cycle like NBA2K does.

Having said that I think the grass and dirt should at least get an upgrade because the surface on the field lacks behind compared to the beautiful stadiums if you ask me.

-No more just some breadcrums in the batters box, but hi res dirt degradation.
-No more flat carpet looking grass but make it 3d looking in every camera angle like we do see in replays now. The new consoles must be able to handle this!

I’m not too fond of the fact that Xbox will get the game as well. I mean the more people that can enjoy this game the better but eventually the team normally shifts it focus only to the new console (PS5) and drops the support for the older console (PS4 ) which then leads to some real next gen steps being taken. Xbox wants the games released on their system(s) to be playable on all their consoles which might mean they can never truly go all the way or will be hold back.

Maybe I’m wrong but but just a thought crossing my mind.
