Or just don't pre order it until all the info releases, they aren't gonna run out of pre orders. The game launches in 2 months it doesn't make sense from a marketing standpoint to release all the information this soon and have no build up for the games release window.

), it won't cost me a dime. and even if Gamestop chose not to refund my $ upon cancellation, how's that $5 benefit Sony? yep, preorders are for people who know they want something, not people who don't.

exactamundo. no one expects anyone to preorder or is asking anyone to preorder w/o info. that's strictly for those who already know they want any particular game (not limited to but including the Show). I've already preordered with as little as $5. if at some point I decide to walk away w/o totally committing ( I won't), it won't cost me a dime. and even if Gamestop chose not to refund my $ upon cancellation, how's that $5 benefit Sony? yep, preorders are for people who know they want something, not people who don't.

Re: MLB The Show 21 Information So Far
They aren't secretive about info. They have a marketing schedule that they stick to. Just bc they don't release info on a timeline that you and some others are happy with, doesn't mean they're being secretive. That's going a bit overboard

The year online franchise got dropped they lost my respect on how they handled and "announced" that. They 100% were being secretive on that.
Not much longer later they dropped season mode without a word.
Having valuable info come out on the game a week before release is not fun for a consumer deciding on purchasing the game or not.
They have 0 competition. So they can do this. I remember the days they released the feature list every January where every new feature was highlighted and detailed. I am not saying this new marketing approach does not highlight the game more, but I have seen first hand them being secretive on important information on the game.Last edited by eric7064; 02-22-2021, 04:52 PM.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 21 Information So Far
They just made the case for a lot of people to wait for the price drop. If someone is enjoying '20 there isnt much to suggest a reason to purchase '21 right away. Unless they pull something out of the hat if/when they release franchise details, this is underwhelming."Listen son, you only have enough runs when you’re showering after a win."Comment

If all franchise gets is a few small changes AND the stadium creator bit that was in the description of one of SDS youtube videos was an accident and isn’t actually coming this year, reading the threads on here as launch gets closer will be....interesting.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 21 Information So Far
So would this likely mean that all the upgrades to franchise other then maybe stadium creator if it’s real will be on both PS5 and PS4? If so that probably rules out something like expanded rosters that people here have been hoping for, unless their holding it back till the livestream. I’d imagine that would be next gen only.

Maybe hopes have been too high, but this is a pretty weak list in terms of improvents to being a baseball simulation (unless there's many small details that haven't been listed):
Improvements to baseball specific things:
• Tailored Gameplay for desired playstyle with all new in-game onboarding
- Repeated here: New player onboarding experience
- Repeated here: New Gameplay styles, customize your experience from
casual fun to competitive intensity
• New Franchise & MTO tools to better plan for the future
• New Intro Presentations (Next Gen)
• More Detailed Stadiums and Environments (Next Gen)
Non baseball specific improvements:
• Cross Platform Progression and Completion
• Smooth 60 FPS Gameplay (Next Gen)
• Immersive 3D Audio (Next Gen)
• Game-Changing Haptic Feedback (Next Gen)
That means we have tailored gameplay which seems it's aimed at newcomers, cosmetic updates to the intro presentations and detailed environments, and the only other baseball related update being MTO and Franchise improvements, which we haven't seen anything yet on Franchise.
Like I said, I'm sure there will be plenty of small things making the difference between 21 and 20, but overall a bit weak on the back of the box improvements."Life is like baseball, it's the number of times you arrive home safely that counts"Comment

Re: MLB The Show 21 Information So Far
Also interesting they only mention more detail to the stadiums and environments. Does that rule out new player models and does poor Heidi Watney still look nothing like she does IRL.Last edited by jrnlgrn; 02-25-2021, 05:20 PM."Listen son, you only have enough runs when you’re showering after a win."Comment

Re: MLB The Show 21 Information So Far
Well, wish they’d take Heidi out, but you think they would mention updated player models for the PS5, something like that. Afterall, isn’t the upgrade for most games about how the characters in the game look new generation?Comment

Also, is it just me or are 3 of the 5 bullet points pretty much just one bullet point, then the same bullet point split in two and written as two different ones?Comment
