Re: Anyone Gotten Into The Stress Test Yet?
I downloaded and played an exhibition game on both the XBOX Series X and PS5 versions last night before the servers went offline. I'm pretty confident that the Series X version was definitely the Next Gen version. I played a day game at Petco and it was very vibrant with detail and color. I believe the version I played on the PS5 was actually the PS4 version as the colors were not as vibrant.
Also, the PS5 version I downloaded was just under 27GB and the Series X version was just under 37GB.Comment

I just wouldn't expect huge improvements right away.Comment

Re: Anyone Gotten Into The Stress Test Yet?
I game share with my cousin. He got the ps invite, I didn’t. He has a ps4 pro, I have a ps5. As I started the download, it clearly says “PS4”.
Conversely, I myself got into the Xbox tech test, Series X, and there looks to be nothing next gen about it. Looks exactly like the ps4 tech test I’m running on PS5.
Is there even a “next gen” version? Better be if they are clearly marketing and selling next gen versions for 69.99.Comment

Re: Anyone Gotten Into The Stress Test Yet?
Hopefully they will come out and say that the stress test isn’t next gen. Could turn/piss people off quite a bit if they didn’t know any better.
Hell, maybe it is next gen, no clue. Either way, they should definitely answer the question. Someone that uses Twitter go ask LOL.Comment

Re: Anyone Gotten Into The Stress Test Yet?
MLB 17 was really the first one that really felt next gen. 15 and 16 were incremental improvements.....but 17 was when they really started implementing a wider variety of fielding animations, ball physics really took off more, presentation, a lot of things. Also franchise was actually worked on in different ways that were not heavily appreciated.
Anyway. That was my point o 14. It was virtually the same game and the expectations for 21 should be tempered. 2023 IMO is when we will really see next gen type stuff.....hopefully with franchise and gameplay. Now Playing on PS5:

Re: Anyone Gotten Into The Stress Test Yet?
I signed up and it said success to join the beta well before the deadline. I'm on Xbox Series X but I don't see it. Where does the message pop up specifically to download on series X? Is there anybody from MLB the Show I can contact if I didn't receive one?Comment

Re: Anyone Gotten Into The Stress Test Yet?
You have to download the Xbox Insider app on your Series X, which you can find in the MS store under apps. If you got an invitation, it'll show up there. I received one and downloaded it this morning. The file size was about 37 gigs I believe.Comment

Re: Anyone Gotten Into The Stress Test Yet?
MLB 14 was basically a port from PS3 to PS4.
I expect mostly the same save for a few features (stadium builder still unconfirmed and some franchise updates which in english means updated user interface).

While true, the graphical improvements on the next gen systems will make it feel and look like a completely different game.
Let’s not discount the haptic feedback, loading times and what I can only assume will be cloth physics, along with stadium and crowd enhancements, etc.
We can call it a “port” all we want, but the power of these next gen consoles will be used and for those of us with a PS5 or Series X will certainly be able to tell the difference.

Re: Anyone Gotten Into The Stress Test Yet?
Of course there is a next gen version and it isn't likely that's the one we're playing right now it's a very base version of the game without any bells and whistles, I kind of thought that was the expectation for people. I didn't expect to get a full blown next gen version for a small beta test that only has a few modes.Comment
