You’re correct, the fact that a game of RDRs scope and ambition nailed all aspects while a sports game, which really only has visuals and gameplay going for it and still lacks in both departments is telling.

10+ years ago developers still had ambition to create amazing sports games because they had to gain reputation and sales. Ever since the PS4 era started they’ve all been on cruise control.

If you want to defend them that’s fine. The fact that 15 year old games have more depth is embarrassing.

Estimated 400-700million to make RDR2. SDS is nowhere near the type of studio as Rockstar. Again, the argument your making just does not add up.

It literally does add up when PES 5, a game released 16 years ago, had the option to adjust the body type of a player. You’re looking for excuses where none are needed.

Still look like wax figures without any real differentiating body types. And it’s 2021, meanwhile RDR2 has more detail and work put into a single can of peaches. And that game was from 2018

RDR2 took like 8 years to make and 400 million dollars.😂

MLB The Show's engine is just limited and it's starting to show in obvious ways.

I still think the game looks excellent, but there's some things you can see that they would do if it was easier to implement into their game engine.

Always love when people come on forums and tell others what is possible and not possible and how much something costs, like they know. LOL. I can only imagine how the actual developers of these games feel when they read this stuff.

Makes me wonder how many people actually pause the game multiple times a game just to zoom in on players faces. Bc that's the only time you will notice those kind of details aside from the few seconds during batter walk-ups and the like. There's always things that can be worked on, and everybody has different views on what should take priority. But man, some people go overboard on expressing it. Take example, the guy above who was banned the same day he made an account lol

If people want to express constructive criticisms on what they'd like to see from the game visually, they should feel free to do so. If how the game looks doesn't matter, why even both with next gen?

A lot of people enjoy looking at the players on the edit screens in Franchise mode and would like them to look as realistic as possible. It's part of the immersion of the game experience. Don't tell people that "baseball isn't for you". I don't go around bashing Y2Y saves and broadcast presentation even though I think the former is useless and the latter is an epic waste of time.

Further, you're not exacly defending SCEA when you say they shouldn't be comapred to Rockstar. It's like saying "hey man, Rockstar is awesome at what they do, it's not fair to compare SCEA to them, since SCEA is considerably less awesome."

Of course visuals matter! Like I said earlier, everybody has a different view on what should take priority. For me personally, I don't zoom in on players faces to look at every single little detail. My favorite thing is when I can press L2 to see the lineup during the inning that it let's you do it, just to see the camera pan back so I can see the whole ballpark in all its beauty.

I just wanted to join in and lol at people saying the PS5 will do what the PS4 should have done and be 4k @60 fps. Maybe 2 or 3 PS4's could combine and sniff 4k 60 fps, but the PS4 Pro does not have the horses to even think about true 4k 60 fps

I personally believe The Show has made great leaps forward, especially when it comes to gameplay. Definitely not stale for me.
