Without getting banned and saying too much... we know full minors was a disaster last year. But think, if they added the same amount of prospects this year , we are that much close to out of the box full minors. So I know people are talking about ho much harder its gonna be to import player but keep in mind the more prospects that come in the game OTB, the less work Ridin and folks have to do.

Very good point! I really hope the default FM roster is much better this year.Without getting banned and saying too much... we know full minors was a disaster last year. Re: Why Buy The Show 21
The only way I could see myself getting 21 is if there were some sort of roster transfer and an announcement that Y2Y is coming back in 22. Outside of these, I just don't see myself getting PS5 until much later in '21. I have a franchise that stretched MLB14 PS3 thru MLB20 PS4 so the removal of the Y2Y was a blow. Recently though, I have fallen in love with the Legend and Longball 2.0 roster and fired up a franchise with the plan of just importing it into MLB21 and moving on that way. Personally Y2Y is a dealbreaker for me moving forward.....If for some reason it was not to make a return to the show I could see myself going 3-4 years without buying a new version and just playing MLB20 for the foreseeable future.Comment

Pretty much same for me.
Again if the roster import feature is there for 21 then it is a no brainer. I will grab it and use all the content we have from 20 and continue my long term Y2Y on 20.
Y2Y is a big blow. I pray it returns for 22!!!!

I started my CUbbies franchise with a 2014 roster on MLB14 for the PS3. I finished 12 full seasons in which I played all 162. Easily one of the most enjoyable things I've done on a video game. This was only made possible by Y2Y saves. I was looking forward to using that Legends and Longball 2.0 roster and taking that 90ish Cubs roster on a journey with my Favorite guy (Ryne Sandberg...I edited the Sandberg on that roster to be more in line with the '89-'92 Ryno) and the youngsters like Kerry wood and going on at least a 5+ year run....Now, I'm perfectly fine just doing this moving forward on MLB20 but I really wanted to import it and have it available for the newer console that I will eventually get.Comment

I hear you. Even so....MLB 20 plays incredibly well on the PS5 with true 4K and 60 FPS.....like a dream. I have seen it now in person....sick.
Anyway. Here is hoping the roster import feature is alive for MLB 21. That will really lighten the sting of Y2Y being out this cycle. Now Playing on PS5:

Because it has new rosters with new players. That's always been why I buy every year.Comment

And I was the opposite...lol. But that’s cool. It is a great franchise.
I would venture to say if carryover did not exist I would have stuck with 17 until 20 got here. I fell in love with my Yankees franchise (Year 5 now). It has been an incredible journey that will still live on playing by MLB 20 for years to come even after we go next gen.Now Playing on PS5:

Yankees is real players.
Marlins is Bacon’s Roster.
Check my slider thread on post #2 and you will see my franchise hub and latest depth char for year 5. We really wheeled and dealt players and prospects over the years (and paid dearly to get some players). It has been a wild chise....best I have ever played on any sports game in my life. I stream just about every game on Twitch long with a ton of other Show content (and Madden 21).
We have a great time on the streams too. Lot;s of OS’er and great guys hanging and talking sports games etc.Last edited by Armor and Sword; 03-04-2021, 05:42 PM.Now Playing on PS5:

Re: Why Buy The Show 21
If you are a Ps4 user who likes to carry over your saves in either Franchise or RTTS then there have not been any compelling reasons shown yet. It's early though so maybe they will introduce something in a later stream or video that might entice these users. Year to Year saves being missing is a big loss. That feature actually promotes yearly purchases for many.Comment

Re: Why Buy The Show 21
For me as a PS5 owner the Stadium Creator is a huge reason why. I also like the new Pinpoint pitching interface.
I definitely am wanting to hear more. I really want them to confirm Sounds of the Show is still in and some other stuff. But they've given me enough to get it this year. I'm sure I'll be playing with the stadium creator for some timeCheck out my updated 2017 blog on building a high school football video game:

Re: Why Buy The Show 21
I just decided not to buy The Show 21 until the PS5 becomes available. I tried buying a PS5 twice over the past few days and it sells out the moment new inventory is released. Craziness! As far as I'm concerned, it's not available until everybody who wants to buy one can get one without sitting there maniacally clicking refresh in hopes of getting it into your cart like some sort of depraved addict. So if that's not until late in the year, I'll probably just wait for The Show 22.
I mean, I'm a 35 year-old man, I do not need to be jumping through hoops to buy a silly video game system. I'll just go into year 2 of my '20 franchise instead.Comment

Just casually buying a new system probably won't be a thing until summer of next year. I'm fairly confident that they'll still be unicorns this coming Christmas.YouTube: MLB The Show 21 Atlanta Braves FranchiseComment

I am going to disagree with you on that. I think this Christmas you will be able to get one if you want it.
Things are going to really start opening up rapidly by this summer. By the end of the year I think 60% plus on this country will be vaccinated.
The fact that I can pretty much get anything I want except a PS5 speaks volumes to how poor Sony (and Microsoft for that matter too) handled the launch.
At this point we should see them being stocked on store shelves and not have to deal with this utter online only horse **** bot/scalper war.
By late this summer a lot of these horders who are scalping systems will be stuck with excess inventory.
Mark my word.
