I decided to make my own analysis video about the little we've seen so far. I kind of come from the other side... what we may be limited to in this mode's first year (such as the possibility of no domes). This is only based on what we've seen, so there is any chance in the world that we will be shown much, much more flexibility and customization down the line.

that was excellent, a true deep dive. I think you touched on everything but one thing that I noticed. I see they have Easy stadium construction and Pro stadium construction. I didn't see if there were more. I saw this in the last 4-5 minutes.

whenever I finally upgrade next-gen, I'll definitely start w/Easy and get good at that before I advance, especially with how deep the construction goes. I do hope it isn't too steep a learning curve when it comes to all the fencing options because that will be the meat & potatos for me, where I'll spend most of my time.

one last thing, I hope makes it into the editor relates to the infield portion. like at the Tigers Comerica, the ''keyhole'' dirt strip connecting the mound to the batters box. that was at the D'Backs Chase Field up until a couple years back. also at the Jays Rogers Centre about 5 or 6 years ago they had dirt ''sliding pits'' at the bases before they went to an all-dirt infield for 2016 . anywho, I hope those 2 things make it in, plus custom signage on outfield walls.

FWIW the average mlb stadium seating capacity is a shade or two under 43,000
MLB caliber stadiums ought be over 30,000 & minor league parks ought be under 20,000 & probably a minimum 4000-5000

I noticed this while I was recording, but talked right over my mind seeing it because I was on a roll with whatever I was saying. I do wonder what that's all about.

This seems to be in. One of the parks had this, and I mention it at the end of my video.

I'm really curious about bullpen placement. So far it seems they can only be placed in foul territory, which is quite opposite of what pretty much any park today does. I understand why they kind of maybe have if this way for now, but it certainly is interesting to note.

EDIT: Also, at 22:15 it was killing me where that batter's eye was from. I knew I knew it from somewhere, but I naturally said Detroit because they have some of that ivy or whatever but we already saw theirs in a different park. I believe this one is at Guaranteed Rate Field (Chicago).

I don’t know if it was answered before but is Stadium Creator only for Season or Franchise modes and not for Play Now? I’m a casual player who only plays 2-3 games a week on Play Now, the All-Star Game and the playoffs in October mirroring the real bracket. I’m debating if I should upgrade to a XSX or PS5 just for this so I can create some Florida Spring Training stadiums.

We don't know yet, insofar as they haven't specifically mentioned Play Now as having it or not. Personally I would be very surprised if it wasn't, as I can't really imagine the stadium select process before every game being any different across the modes (RTTS being the lone exception as you can't choose your stadium there in '20).

If stadium creation is done from its own main menu option, then it's probably good for Play Now. If it's done from inside Franchise/DD....then it might not be.

I’m just like you man. I don’t have time to play franchise with work and normal life these days so I’m a casual player who only plays Play Now/Exhibition mode.

I fear they may waste this mode and not make it available in play now like they should. Usually when something makes a lot of sense I’ve noticed they stray away from it lol. Case in point - Online franchise. Moronic to remove that from the game and then they bring it back without the ability to use custom rosters (which was the reason it was so amazing originally).

I really hope I’m wrong though. Adding this to play now mode would be an absolute game changer for me.

I definitely don't expect retractable roofs but where the video said something like ''multiple stadium kits to choose from'' (can't recall exact phrasing) I'm assuming that will mean like a cookie-cutter stadium kit, a dome kit, maybe a fantasy stadium kit, a cityscape retro type dealio and whatever else. but that's pure speculation on my part right now. still, I can't imagine a dome being left out.
which leads me to my next wondering: I wouldn't be surprised if to make room for build-a-stadium, the ps5 version doesn't have the classic stadiums ps4 has. when the ps4 released for Show 14, classic stadiums didn't appear on the ps4 until 16, even though ps3 14 & 15 had those classic stadiums. I'm fairly certain I'm remembering the ps3 14 & 15 right and I'm 100% positive that's how ps4 14 & 15 went

Maybe, maybe not. In my deep dive video, I only saw blue seats as well. I'm guessing those can be altered, though.

In a way, that almost could bode as good news, because maybe all we saw was "tip of the iceberg" kinds of stuff.

Great deep dive really thorough.

I’m curious about the bullpens mainly. I have a hard time believing they will be locked to the foul territories but no field shown has otherwise. That’d a big bummer if that were the case.

I think you’re right about being able to rise/lower the stands so that your first row isn’t 10 feet about the wall (if you want).

Based on the depth they’ve shown I think we will be seeing a wide range of outfield configurations and props and stands which I’m really excited about.

I also would imagine they are keeping some stuff secret (seat colors, advertisements/logos) until the livestreams/release day

Haven't read through the whole thread, but do we know whether or not we can have ads/signage on the outfield walls? While I would much rather go back to when stadiums had team logos and such on the walls, they look pretty bare without anything on them. Just curious if that has been talked about.

No, hasn't been confirmed. I'd like to know that also, along with retractables. It could be accomplished with a roof set piece.

I'm kinda thinking that if domes or retractable roofs were in Stadium Creator this year, we would have seen at least a half second clip of it.... I can't imagine it'd be too difficult to throw in at least 4 or 5 different dome and/or retractable roof set pieces to use though.

Maybe this is a 'year two' type update?

I'll be knocking down the Bayfront Center and Al Lang Stadium and building the Rays a new place right on the water. I know there have been talks in the past about this happening IRL but never came to fruition. So I'll be doing it myself.
