No, I play with quick counts. No problem with the CPU stealing, i use auto base running and there are times my runners take off without me prompting them.

I’ve got family over, so I won’t be able to post my tests and trials for a few days. I’ve got screenshots of all my difficulty settings, maybe in there? I feel like those haven’t changed over the years though

Simplest way to know for sure if there’s something wrong with your game install that’s preventing CPU steals:

          Start an RTTS catcher.

If you don’t see CPU stealing against you ever then reinstall the game. The amount of steals you will see in the most ridiculous of situations from the most ridiculous of players should be... well, ridiculous.

Does the amateur showcase, the East/West teams, count? Everyone was attempting a steal then. My first game in AA also, every time I was behind the plate, an attempt was made.

Come to think of it... I don’t believe the CPU ever tries to bunt either!

Re: CPU won’t attempt to steal bases

SOLVED!! I had certain settings set to ‘beginner’ somehow and not dynamic, like usual. The CPU is bunting and stealing on the regular now, I’m so happy!

A GIGANTIC thank you to everyone who had some input!

Glad you worked it out - what were the settings that you had to change? (For our future reference if we have the same issue)

Under Batting & baserunning: Hitting Difficulty was set to Beginner, and I have it set to Dynamic now

Under Pitching: Pitching Difficulty was set to beginner, I have it set to Dynamic now

I bet you could have Batting & Baserunning on Beginner, and still have the CPU steal, but I haven’t tried it

Re: CPU won’t attempt to steal bases

In manage mode they steal on my team frequently - or attempt to. They seem to recognize when a strong arm is behind the plate and attempt less frequently than when a catcher with a weak arm is behind the plate.
