Just curious, what would be the difference between it being a franchise option and its own mode? You can already treat it as an alternative way to play the first year of a franchise.Comment

I'm curious if that trade screen is in franchise. It was in MTO last year and the big outcry from franchise fans is we didn't have the updated trade hub. I believe it was mentioned last year it couldn't work in franchise.
I'm curious if it now does, or the combined stream has both modes blended.

Re: MLB The Show 21 Franchise Mode and March to October Details From Feature Premiere
I'm not sure if it has been said already, but my biggest issue with Franchise the last few years has been just the atmosphere and commentary. Especially in the post season. I want the ball game to feel alive and the right moments and dead when you hit a 3 run bomb on the road to put the game all but out of reach. I'm sick and tired of seeing my pitcher fist pump after he finally gets out of an inning in which he gave up the lead or gave up 3-4 runs. That's not even close to realistic. I'm tired of seeing the same arguing animations after I strike out swinging, especially with a guy like Goldy, who is as professional of a player as I've seen. the animations are tired and over used. I want the commentators to not say the same recycled material for the last several years over and over.
This is honestly my biggest gripe with the mode recently, it has become increasingly more difficult for me to enjoy grinding a full 162 with the same mundane commentary track and commentators. (I don't mind Matt Vasgersian, but the other two are unbearable a lot of the times.) It's even more off putting when I do get through a tough 162 and then get into the post season and it literally feels like a game in the middle of May, and not a playoff game.Last edited by bjenks; 04-05-2021, 04:04 PM.Streaming all 162 games of my MLB 22 Franchise on Twitch! Re: MLB The Show 21 Franchise Mode and March to October Details From Feature Premiere
I just don't see anything in Franchise that can keep my interest.
Lineup/pen/trade logic is great but the BIGGEST part of a ballclub is securing the future, a.k.a. player development. Drafting, scouting other teams, developing prospects, hit vs. miss prospects...I sorely desire for a system that dives into this.
I know we have DD that young kids get into, rightfully so. I think this would be the natural step as they learn more about baseball...all of us have prospects we watched grow up and wanted to see succeed in the majors.
For me, it was Jason Heyward - I literally SCREAMED when he hit a 3-run HR his first AB in the majors. I want to have that same thrill focusing on a particular player go from draft -> prospect -> top 50 prospect > MLB ready > MVP caliber
...but hey, maybe that's just me.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

It's not represented well in this game yet. If the scouting and developing of players alone was just deep, then all of the other features the mode is missing out on would not matter near as much and it would still be deep and have tons of playability. However, since the scouting and progression system we have now are both incredibly generic and linear, the other missing features stick out even more because the depth isn't coming from anywhere in the mode other than the user's imagination.

Yes. I would say 65-70% of the time we do mixed in with conversing with viewers as well.
We have a lot of fun.

Re: MLB The Show 21 Franchise Mode and March to October Details From Feature Premiere
The plain and simple of it is there needs to be a serious competitor, but unfortunately baseball isn't as profitable and popular in the gaming world. There is ZERO incentive to update game modes that are not the cash cow that is DD.Comment

Hopefully that is something they are looking to expand upon. It would be a blast to do all that.Comment
