That Stadium Assignments screen is exactly what I was hoping for! I was worried they were only going to allow you to change user team stadiums.

The fact that you can also change Minor League Ballparks is also huge.

If I was next Gen, it would be harder to resist with Stadium Creator. Though I would like to know if the created Stadiums can be used as AAA and AA Parks. It was not specifically said and I'm not taking anything for granted.

But I am impressed with what they have done. I just dont think it's a game for me this year
Yes. They said you can assigns parks to all the different teams.

I was very skeptical at first but after watching the premier I think this is a very strong step In the right direction. This only works if they build upon this moving forward. I believe y2y saves will be back next year. As well as I believe that alot more will be improved upon next year.

I sure hope that sds will continue to improve on franchise. Especially with having a large fan base by the x box users now joining us.

I get where you are coming from and I understand that as a consumer, you want it to the best it can. But as a dev, I always caution that like , especially on a game with only a one year cycle, just wanting the whole thing revamped brings a new 5 year cycle of legacy issues lol I dont think what they have is broke so ill always cape for them to just fix bugs and improve on what they have

When talking about the stadium creations in franchise, they mentioned relocation, uniforms, etc. You think it's it the same kind of "rebranding" we had in 20 or something different?

It sounds like it's more than likely the same, which really doesn't matter to me as what we had plus stadium creations could be fairly interesting, but curious if I missed something.

Sorry I'm watching on a Potato of a phone at work. I saw the stadium selection screen but I did not see minor league teams listed? Was this the case? I only heard them mention the main ball clubs

That was something that made sure to illicitly state. "these changes pave the way for things we want to do in the future with franchise" . Like we should be having a parade about this . Remember a year or two ago when people were thinking sds was going to scrap franchise altogether? lol

Re: MLB The Show 21 Feature Premiere Starting Soon - March to October & Franchise Mod

If the changes that have been made are mostly behind the scenes things so that they can build more in the future, then that's awesome and I hope it pays off. Unfortunately for this year that means I see little reason to buy the game at full price.

They can win me back over easily if they really are working on the foundation for the benefit of the future. Some logic changes are very nice, though the contract logic with Lindor is a little worrying. I would really like to see the pitching staff logic fixed because it is pretty terrible, but I missed it if that had been messed with. Simply fixing that would make me more prone to buying the game at or near launch, but it's hard for me to justify buying the game at launch with the small amount of changes in combination with the pitching staff management logic being embarrassingly bad.

For those that already find franchise mode fun enough, they have plenty to be excited about. The gameplay in The Show is extremely good and is why despite the shallow franchise mode I continue to play the series and am always looking for SCEA to give me a reason to buy at launch.

My fingers are crossed that these foundational changes for the future actually workout so that we can get a franchise mode that does satisfy those of us looking for a bit more because I'd love for this game to only become more and more successful and get more resources moving forward.

If we assign the stadiums to each team, does the stadiums keep the logos? Like if I want the Sox to play in SF, do I have to have the Giants logo in the park?

I mean, if you boil it down to “improving logic” it’s easy to write off, but rewriting the logic to value players differently in performance and in trade value, and using that data to project your team’s depth charts 3, 4, 5 years down the line is a big change.

Is it logic? Sure, but it’s a substantial difference for the game.

I'm happy with the new additions in Franchise. I like the prospect focus. I like the depth charts with the player predictions. I like they are using WAR.

The menu's look good to me. I was getting tired of all the perfect square tile menu's that every sports game uses.

Just so much logic and under the hood stuff being fixed is great. Everything seems more streamlined where it shows the trades then asks if you want to adjust your rotation or lineups. It just takes away some unnecessary steps.

I'm a big prospect guy. So them having more focus on prospects is huge for me. Like I said, I love the depth chart thing with the year to year predictions on when a prospect will arrive and how he will do based on new logic.

I look at this stuff all the time, like real life predictions on years prospects will be MLB ready. I would like to see the 20/80 scale being shown next to them or in some way other than just scouting though.

Everyone is looking for something different. So I get if you aren't happy, but imo, I think there are some significant positive changes here.

And one more thing, I'm also glad they are allowing you to change the team name since obviously the Indians will have a new name next year, and I play the game basically up to launch day of the next one so I can change it when they announce the name.

Isn’t that the custom team option? When they were selecting a team, it showed up with a prompt of one of the shoulder buttons. I’ll try to get a screenshot of it.

One thing that got me more hyped for stadium creator than I was previously - the ability to assign a stadium to a any team. That's a significant addition and change to the mode because it wont affect just the user - it will affect cpu teams and their simmed games as well if I'm understanding correctly. If you put the Rockies into a stadium with Polo Grounds CF all the way around, as an extreme example, it would theoretically affect their season HR totals. Which might affect their team performance since their offense is built around power. Which in the long run might affect how the team evaluates its players. And so on.....see how all this stuff is connected?

Of course none of it matters if i'm overthinking this and the simmed games still have HR's flying out of that park, but the possibility is now there, at least. The possibilities are endless for fictional leagues.

So happy morale no longer effects player stats. I’ve absolutely hated that every since they first introduced it. That almost makes up for the Yanks losing today.....almost.

I'm loving how you can see how your team's player are projected to be 2, 3, 4 years down the road. lots of changes here and there adding up to vastly different franchise experience. easy to see why 21 is detached from 20. they would have had an easier time trying to make nba2k 20 carry-over to Show 21 than Show 20 to Show 21 lol
