Re: MLB The Show 21 Coming to Xbox Game Pass on April 20
For anyone that didn’t know, there’s an amazing way for new subscribers to Game Pass to stack 3 years of membership at an insane rate.
As a new Game Pass Ultimate subscriber, you can initially transfer your Xbox Live Gold sub into Game Pass Ultimate at a conversion rate of 1:1.
I never had an Xbox One, so jumping back into Xbox with the Series X I just created a new gamertag, I couldn’t remember what email I even used for my old one lol.
So with a new account, and after seeing this crazy deal, I searched the web for the cheapest way for me to stack 3 years of Xbox Live Gold to my account. Normally it costs $60/year, but I think I found a few for $50. So I think I paid $160 for 3 years of Xbox Live Gold. I then paid the $1 it costs to sign up for Game Pass Ultimate, and as a new subscriber it transfers, up to 3 years, your Xbox Live Gold sub into Game Pass Ultimate 1:1. So starting in November when I got my Series X, I was locked in to Game Pass Ultimate for 3 years for a whopping $161. If you just straight up paid for 3 years of Game Pass Ultimate, at $15/month, it’s what $540?
You can only do this once as a new subscriber I believe. And after this, adding things like Xbox Live Gold to your account, or EA Play, do convert into Game Pass Ultimate but not at the 1:1 conversion rate. I think a year of Gold would only get you 3 months of GPU. And they only let you stack 3 years of GPU at a time to your account.
So for anyone that’s never had GPU and was considering it, I’d highly suggest finding the cheapest Xbox Live Gold subs you can find, stack as much as you can (up to 3 years), and then for $1 you’re set with Game Pass Ultimate for a long time. It’s an insane deal, and even better considering Game Pass just keeps getting better and better.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 21 Coming to Xbox Game Pass on April 20
I should add, $161 is cheaper than the cost of 3 games at retail. Heck, maybe even 2 a this point with how expensive they’ve gotten. I paid $161 to have access to an enormous library of games, that keeps growing and getting better and better.
Yes, games do leave Game Pass for sure. As someone who has had it since November, there’s not a single game that I’ve either tried or have been interested in that has left the service yet.
And in the Shows case...I preordered for PS5 as well. Had a preorder on Series X but cancelled it once this Game Pass news hit. If for some reason it doesnt stay on Game Pass too long, I’ll gladly buy it then. As a Game Pass subscriber, you can outright buy any game that is on the service to own it as well, and you get a discount. Great stuff.Comment

and the above two posts is why gamepass is good for all gamers, not just xbox'ers. at some point in the future Sony will need something similar to remain relevantOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

As others have said, there are always deals to get Game Pass cheaper than MSRP, you just have to keep an eye out for the deals. For example last November, I added 2 years for a little over $50.
Another thing to consider is using Microsoft Rewards. I use my rewards to get Xbox credit, but you can also use them to get Game Pass, which can basically make it free. Destin Legarie from IGN posted a good video explaining how all this works recently on his YouTube page, if you are interested you should look it up.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 21 Coming to Xbox Game Pass on April 20
I expect that MS putting the game on GP with the blessing of MLB indicates the start of the end for Sony San Diego making the game. Once this new deal runs out they most likely will not pay MLB to be the ones to make the game if it has to be multiplat and I fully expect the license to go over to EA or 2K
I don’t think so. This game does well for Sony on their consoles. This will only make Sony more money now and might be able to compete with other sports titles IMO. Like others have mention this helps SDS and Sony in the long run because more people get exposure to the game on Xbox than ever before possible. I can guarantee you that many who were on the fence before and unwilling to pay $70 for a baseball game might just do it after trying it out and seeing how good the game is. Also, this game is profitable for Sony. If it wasn’t they would’ve just dropped out. There’s tons of people who are Xbox fans who only buy a PlayStation for this game alone.

Re: MLB The Show 21 Coming to Xbox Game Pass on April 20
Sony has to be upset that MLB forced them to make it on xbox and blindsided by the backroom deal between xbox and mlb to put it on game pass when they are charging full price and they made the game.
If I was SSD I would ask out of the deal and go make a dope exclusive game not sports and not deal with the optics
People ask why can't Sony put the game on plus like MS did with Game Pass but that would mean that the show would be making less for Sony in the long rung specially after being on ps5 where they will charge you 70
Sony has no control over the show going to xbox or game pass but the optics are awful that they are tweeting pre order today for 70 dollars while MS is tweeting day one game passComment

People that get into game pass are not going to stop paying for it. The value is to good. Plus you can but it at a discount as a member of game pass later on when is on sale and have it for lifeComment

The show has a strong audience but is not a big one. The show before ps4 di not even crack 1 million in sales. Not sure what it sold last year but a quick search shows it was at 1 million and a bit more yearly which is not a big seller on a console with 125 million sold.
SSD can make another game of their choice as a sony exclusive and I bet it would outsell the show easily.
Putting the game on xbox would be a more profitable situation for sony but not when MS paid MLB to publish the game and put it on game pass. That reduces significantly the amount of people who will buy it on xbox and the money sony would receive.
How this looks for Sony today?
They are making a game for their console and charging 70 while also making a game for their competitor and having that competitor put it on a subscription plan....Comment

Re: Mlb The Show 21 Launching on Gamepass
Also, guessing about something isn't spreading fake news. If I had claimed to know that it would be removed and was doing so baselessly, then that would be spreading fake news. Simply posting a guess and clarifying that it was only a guess isn't spreading fake news because I'm not claiming my guess is a fact like you were claiming it was a fact no other sports games were removed from GamePass when they actually have been. So please, don't spread fake news.

Re: Mlb The Show 21 Launching on Gamepass
You do know anyone can join gamepass for $1 for 3 months right? Don’t try to downplay this like it’s not huge news. Most Xbox owners are on gamepass and this is huge. Saved me $70 up front and by the tone it comes off gamepass it’ll be cheaper than $70 that’s for sure.

I'm a GamePass subscriber myself. This is how I'll be playing The Show now since I had zero plans to buy it anytime soon, so the news is big news and I know that. That said, some of the posts in here were people acting like this game was going to be free to all Xbox users to play for doing nothing. I was just stating you still have to pay the monthly fee to have access to the game, so they aren't getting the game for free.

It’s chess not checkers. It being on gamepass allows more people to have access to it. I can guarantee you next year a lot more people will buy it. These are corporations. They’re in it for money bro. The show makes a lot of money off diamond dynasty not just sales. I honestly think us gamers are making this a much bigger deal than these suits are. Microsoft paid a bag to have this on gamepass to entice more people to join Xbox and gamepass. Everyone is getting paid. It’s all a strategy to make more in the end.

You also can play most of your Xbox games on xbox, PC, Tablets and phones.
The game pass is huge old Xbox games, EA play and a few other major companies.
The games even on xbox gold are better than what Playstation usually offers for free.Youtube: https://youtube.com/@mlbnetworkleagu..._hz5M86fl-FbW4

I am not sure what the debate is about. Game Pass is a Great Deal. The more games you play using the service the better the value is.
But no matter how great of a deal it is you can't argue that it is not, essentially, a rental (same as PS Plus). You have access for as long as you pay and as long as the game stays on the service.Comment
