I believe this is the case. The Game Pass PR says 4/20.

The MS Store shows The Show being available Available on April 15, 2021, 9:00 PM for the Deluxe Edition, while the Standard Edition is available on April 19, 2021, 9:00 PM. (I am in the PST time zone)

The video is for games releasing on Xbox, it's not a Game Pass Twitter handle or video.

With the base game being in game pass on the 20th, will SDS/MS or whoever refund us back the difference?

I don't mind paying $99, but not for just the fluff we get when they are putting the game in the pass on launch.

Has there been any word on this at all?

        Basically just want $30/$40 back.
so my question is, is there still enough value in pre-order bonus and 4 days lf early play to justify buying a premium edition vs just getting it free on gamepass. As a diamond dynasty player i will lose out on double daily bonuses as well as a ton of packs early on. So how much extra grinding or purchasing of stubbs will i need to spend to make it up.

If anyonw has a number of stubbs needed to pay for all the preorder bonuses id love to know.

Same, I have no issue paying the difference at all. But kind of just stinks we get short end of the stick with paying for a game thats free day 1.

NBA 2k20 was removed from GamePass after only being on there just a handful of months. As I've been saying, not all sports games have remained on GamePass indefinitely.

I don't expect MLB The Show to remain on GamePass for the entirety of the season, but I definitely would welcome it if actually does stay on GamePass until the next release or even after that as well.

Yet again, no "L" for me to hold.

That makes no sense. It's about getting this game into as many hands of XBox gamers as possible. It's available for the first time ever to them and what better way then offer it on Gamepass which requires only $15/month.

The Show already has the built in base on Playstation.

That kind of thing is super common in business. Companies sell products at a loss with hopes of making it up on the back end with other sales. Most consoles start this way. This would basically be a loss leader for free. They never had Xbox revenue before, so it's not like they're actually losing anything.

From Sony stand point. They will not put the game on Plus because that means they have to pay a big bag to MLB which Sony will never.

From MS stand point. They are willing to spend money and paid heavily IMO to MLB to get the game on GP. That is lost revenue for MLB for sure because many who are not baseball fans will try it and be done with it. PS4 damm near sold 125 million consoles and the show had to break a sweat to sell 1 million copies yearly

Those that want Sony to put it on Plus are not thinking straight and are speaking on emotions which i get.

But think about this. The GP version comes out on release day....Most hardcore the show fans pay extra to play it early. Sony still has that advantage over MS and even more now that the game is on GP.

Sony will sell early high priced copies and make money. MS is more concerned with the optics of GP.

Sure sony fans pay more but they get to play early as well.

You have to be a serious MLB fan to pay for early release on xbox if you have GP...Some will but many won't

There's been talk about cross-platform play between PS5 and XBox Series X. Are we sure about this? Rewatching the next-gen features trailer, I couldn't help but notice it promotes cross-platform play between PS5 and PS4. Was this just a case of the reporters from IGN and such video game publications making poor assumptions? They have a track record of doing that.

It was MLB’s decision to bring it to gamepass.

Series X/S, PS5, Xbox One, and PS4 can all play each other. A dev on The Show’s forum confirmed this.

I’m with you both on this. And I don’t play DD, so I’m just paying for the early access since I took some time off work to play.

I am happy to support this development team, though.

It doesn’t have to. There is a reason that Sony PlayStation is the king of video games consoles. I personally would never own an Xbox. But, to each their own.

Lol, these comments are always the best.

Unless you are only on PlayStation but really want to be a part of GamePass, you're not missing out. If anyone is thinking that this single handedly makes GamePass worth it, then I'm not sure they understand how GamePass works. If The Show is all you would play on GamePass then it would make more sense to not subscribe and just purchase the game. Outside of specials, it is $15 per month. After 4 months you would have paid the same price as The Show is to buy.

For all of the PS users who keep saying this makes them regret going with PS over Xbox, that should only be the case if you would be using GamePass for more than The Show.

If you're a GamePass user and are split which console to go with, this should make it a no brainer. Why wouldn't you go with the GamePass version since it wouldn't cost you anymore than you already have been spending on GamePass. I know $60 isn't that much money, but it also isn't worth spending to have the game just a couple of days early, not to me at least.

Agreed with this, for me, the mix of Gamepass (because I haven't played the XBOX Exclusives in quite awhile) mixed with EA Play, and MLB makes it very tempting. I have a PS5, but I'm actively looking for a XSX to at least try out GamePass because Forza, GOW, Halo, and future additions look to be worth it.

But agreed, the cost does not balance out for a single game.
