15 bucks for me to play MLB ‘21 to see if it’s worth a purchase rather than me forking out full price and being like “meh”. I’d rather try it for 15 bucks thank you.

$15 is for Ultimate. If you are getting Game Pass just to try out The Show, you’re better off getting the regular Game Pass for $10. That is, unless you are eligible for the $1 promo.

So I preordered my copy of the Show using some reward gift certificates from Best Buy. This news kind of bummed me out because I didn't think I could cancel my order and get those rewards back. Then I found this ...

Anyone else have experience with canceling a Best Buy order and getting their rewards points back?

As someone who used to work as Best Buy, this should be the case. Worst case they could put the amount from the game that was the rewards certificate on a gift card for later use.

The source for this guess is me. The guess is being made because I don't expect the title to be there for the entire season. Plenty of games come and go from GamePass after a limited time and this seems like one of those titles to me.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but I'll be wrong and getting to play the game for "free" all season which is a nice deal.

Its more of a $15 rental. Gamepass doesn't give you the game forever and this title likely won't be on there for even the entire length of the season.

You do know anyone can join gamepass for $1 for 3 months right? Don’t try to downplay this like it’s not huge news. Most Xbox owners are on gamepass and this is huge. Saved me $70 up front and by the tone it comes off gamepass it’ll be cheaper than $70 that’s for sure.

After the botched PS5 launch, I relented and got a Series X. I was really agonizing over missing The Show. As someone who isn't a fanboy of either, the timing to switch has worked out well.
I cannot believe what a phenomenal deal Gamepass is. Adding The Show is beyond wild... It's a good time to own an Xbox.

As a long time PS user, I couldn't sniff a PS5 and felt like I was "settling" for an XSX when I got lucky on a Christmas restock at Best Buy. Initially, I was very critical of Gamepass and it's cost for what I felt was a lackluster line-up of "older" games. I even thought about cancelling after my trial period.

A few months later, and I feel fortunate to have an Xbox as it's quickly becoming my console of choice. Gamepass has added EA Play, Bethesda, a litany of other titles and soon MLB The Show. WOW. SMH. I don't know how long The Show will be on Gamepass, but I'd guess long enough to see it go sale, which works for me.

Sorry for the long post. Sitting in a hotel room wide awake at 3am waiting to visit with my kids/granddaughter Sat and thought why not write a book on OS. Lol.

I was lucky to get both ps5 and XSX on launch and honestly I mainly buy the PlayStation for mlb the show, but I play the Xbox way more and now that mlb is coming to gamepass I’m thinking about selling my ps5. I played and ended miles morales and after that barely use it. Gamepass is awesome and there’s a ton of games my kids love on it as well. Gamepass is definitely worth it and what I did was buy 4 three months gamepass on Black Friday. They were $20 each at target and I bought 4. I game share with my close friend and we split it so I got a year of gamepass for $40.

Yup, lots of ways to get Game Pass cheap for those who are savvy or just price sensitive.

It's a pretty big opportunity for the development of the title, more people will have access to MLB The Show on release day than have probably ever bought it over it's entire lifetime on the Playstation platform.

Why? Sony wants their version of FIFA where they make a billion dollars off of ultimate team. If Sony didn’t want Xbox to have the game they wouldn’t have re-upped the license.
