Re: MLB The Show 21 Impressions Thread
I was playing a conquest game while dabbling in DD and I noticed John Olerud was wearing his helmet while in the field. Cool that they thought to add that little detail.

Re: MLB The Show 21 Impressions Thread
Ok, that time of year and I hate to be that guy. But here it goes anyway.
Been very happy staying with 20 since the team got rid of carry over saves. I just have way to much invested in a whole bunch of Franchises. But lately I have actually been having the urge to play a "Current" Franchise and The Show 21 is on sale for $20. So after all of the patches and updates this year what is the current state of the game for a Offline Franchise Mode player who dabbles in a bit of RTTS. I am on PS4 so I don't care about Create a Stadium or Diamond Dynasty at all. Just want some honest input if its worth it to add '21 to my library to play some Current Roster Ball or just find an up to date roster for '20. Thanks FolksIn Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Re: MLB The Show 21 Impressions Thread
Its all around the best version of the game on the PS4. On the field the game is the best its been, and offline franchise took a good step forward instilling a foundation to build upon in terms of finances and AI roster management.

Re: MLB The Show 21 Impressions Thread
I felt 20 was too oriented toward offense. For me, 21 is much more balanced. For that reason alone, I think 21 is better.
I’m still on PS4, and I’m in no rush to get a PS5. I’m sticking with 21 for however long I’m still on PS4.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 21 Impressions Thread
Well I have had '21 for a few days now and I am pretty conflicted.
The Gameplay is good. New animations really help it feel fluid. Branching animations seem much improved. Its obvious that Pitching and Hitting have both been tweaked. I wont comment too much on them as it takes a bunch of games to really get a feel, so I might comment on that in 20 games or so.
My first complaint is the new menu's. Boy they are a mess in my opinion. Everything just seems all over the place and there is no real explanation of the changes. It took me way to long to realize you need to hit square on things to bring up sub menus and such. I am sure I will get used to it but I really don't like them at all.
I do not like RTTS at all!! I understand where they are going. I understand why they are going there. But it is not for me. It is just a mess and load outs are just stupid. Really really don't like the mode and wont be investing anymore time into it.
On the field I think '21 is great. I will continue my new Franchise for a bit and give it an honest shot. But '20 is still my game of games. I do not think at this time that '21 is better than '20. It just feels tighter and obviously, like a lot of others I have multiple franchises that I have invested years in that I am not ready to give up. For me this is the biggest deterrent. If I could carry over I would probably be happy playing '21.In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

I was so hoping for a patch for this big issue, but I guess it's wait until next year.

Re: MLB The Show 21 Impressions Thread
I'm sure I've likely mentioned this before, but I thoroughly enjoy playing the All-Star games, mainly the Futures Game and minor league all-star games. Yes the MLB All-Star Game is fun, but playing with primarily the best of the minor leagues, especially the Futures Game, is just fun.
I enjoy playing these games and then seeing where these players go in the next year or two. Do they make their way to the MLB level or do they bust?
Just fun.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: MLB The Show 21 Impressions Thread
I bought this game simply to play RTTS and I hate myself for not doing my research first. I cannot even big to explain how much I hate this loadout garbage. It is beyond frustrating and honestly, I don't understand it no matter how many articles I read or YouTube videos I watch. Such a stupid, overcomplicated system.
I'm usually pretty forgiving when it comes to video games but if they keep this system going forward, i honestly don't think I will ever purchase future iterations of the game. FrustratingComment

So I didn't think this game could look any better. But today I just bought a LG C1 65" and holy crap....it looks even more amazing! I'm still trying to fiddle with all my picture settings and trying to fix the brightness a bit, but man, this tv is flippin' awesome.

Re: MLB The Show 21 Impressions Thread
I bought 21 on a black friday sale, just to try it out.
What can I say, the game looks and plays great on my ps5……but so does ‘20.
I checked the stadium vault, and as much as I appreciate the efforts and hard work of the community, i find the stadiums mainly ok (could not do it myself though).
The fact that you cannot play night games in these stadiums, and losing sounds of the show is killing the immersion a lot.
I’m an offline classic roster franchise player, so there’s really not much that 21 is offering me.
If y2y saves would still exist i’d probabably play 21.
As it stands now I regret my purchase, even when it was only around 30 bucks.
Let’s hope for a better 22, with roster import being back, sots back, improved stadium creator and night games at the created stadiums.Comment
