Am I doing something wrong or not seeing an option for either of these things to happen?
I think I saw a setting in mode specific settings that may let you change from the Showtime throwing interface.

I doubt that you can go to the tradition fielding view like it is in franchise or DD.

Re: RTTS Forces Two Way Player? (No, It Does Not)

Curious why a mod updated the thread title without explanation? I'd love for that to be true, but haven't heard anything yet to confirm that. Would be nice to at least post a link or something explaining the changed title.

Edit: also if you want to update the thread title to something more specific, maybe just call it RTTS issues or something. Thanks...

Took me 20 minutes to figure out how to set my player...ridiculous

I got into RTTS, and instead of earning my way in, I get a bunch of cinematic mumbo jumbo, and I'm drafted by the twins? No scout games, nothing. Wth happened?

Now, I don't get to really choose my position, but suddenly forced to be a 2 way player for a little bit? What happened to archetypes from 2 years ago?(I missed last year's game as my PS4 died) I am NOT enjoying this being tied to DD, and on top of it being forced to use default Sliders, just to earn stubs/xp. Just forced to use Dynamic I guess.

Here is the source stating you do not need to play your RTTS as a two-way player:

              <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/GtLJrNcW-vM?start=771" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

It is there at the start to provide you with the option, and then you can just reject it, or do it sporadically etc.

Additionally, Loadouts for Ballplayers feels like a nice QOL improvement to me, but again, it's new so I get why some peeps won't like it right out of the gates.

                Re: Help Navigating New RTTS

I didn't read all of your thread, but a few things can be cleared up.

I was confused and annoyed at first, but realized it's all good

Yes you start as a 2way player, but are given an option to choose not to be.

Or, you can pick between being a field player/closer, etc.

It actually seems to give you more freedom than before.

As far as archetypes being taken out, yes, and in my opinion, thank goodness.

I just started using the new system, but it seems to fairly cool.

If you are playing a game as a pitcher, you can set your player up so your attributes lean towards that. If you are playing a game as a 3rd baseman, you set it up to have better fielding and hitting.

I dont know all the ins and outs yet, but from what I've played, it is 1000x better than being boxed in with an archetype.

All and all I really love everything I've experienced with it so far. Best rtts is recent memory in my opinion.

Thank you Chase. I haven't been able to test myself, so just going off of these sort of resources, so I definitely appreciate it.

In regards to the Two Way Player specifically, does seem like quite a bummer that the entire narrative seems to be built around that, with the podcasts, mlb network stuff, etc. They finally add that stuff which is awesome, but yet it's devoted to this one type of player. Just seems like a weird and unfortunate choice.

This is also false. It is one of the narratives it can be built around, but it's not remotely the only one.

Well that's good to know, although it does sound like you definitely have to start out with that one, eh? (which again, is a very odd design decision)

What are the other narratives, if you don't mind sharing? "Not remotely the only one" sounds like there are quite a few, which is good news.

Thank god they announced it free on Xbox in time to cancel my preorder. I throw a knuckleball in real life, now because of some trash money grab card mode I've never played for a second I can't recreate that in the game? This sounds like total garbage.

Disgusting. To ruin one of the most beloved mode of The Show just to tied it to DD is a big slap in the face. What a shame.

RTTS was one of the oldest modes that let you be a pro in a sports game all the way back in 2006. Such a shame what has happened to it seeing as other sports games have evolved their career modes like NBA 2k and seeing MLB the show do nothing to it and now they just gut it smh...

I mean it's like two games of you being a two-way player and then you can just decide what position you want to be. It's a weird hang up with something as trivial as a a built-in tutorial to the mode so everyone can start from the same spot. If people want to be mad about only having "one" ballplayer rather than multiple saves etc. I get that, but this two-way thing is mostly a non-issue after the tutorial ends. It seems like it's being wrapped up in the other beefs people have with the RTTS changes, but I wouldn't even really point to it as a symptom of a larger problem, it's just a pretty standard tutorial-style intro like we basically get in most career modes.

Every 2K career mode starts with an intro and so on before you can branch out a bit more etc.

2K gives you a skip story option.
