So I'm playing with traditional DH rules
I thought about going with the universal DH but think I'm going traditional as well when I get to that point.

I'll be interested in they there doing in the independent league where you get a DH until the starter is removed from the game and then thr pitcher spot has to hit thereafter

CB, what roster are you going with?

I took two out of three at home first series vs the Cardinals. On the road in Toronto now for a three game set. I plan to play every game with quick counts ON, and A&S sliders and settings.

Sent from my SM-G996U using Operation Sports mobile app

          @ Toronto series:

          7-3 W (Lorenzen 1-0; Pearson 0-1)
          2-3 L in 13 innings (Bedrosian 0-1; Borucki 1-0)
          2-6 L (Fulmer 0-1; Ray 1-0)

I do injuries a little differently by quick simming the game first to see if injuries occur. RELOAD the game save and play it. Sub out guys when they were injured in the Sim. I do this so every injury that occurs in the league is from the same slider setting of injuries set on 6. Very rarely do injuries happen in a game too so it makes more sense to do it this way to me, and much more challenging dealing with an actual realistic amount of injuries throughout a grueling 162 game season like irl.

Sonny Gray with an inflamed nerve only pitched 1.2ip before the injury. He will not miss any starts thankfully though. And Lucas Sims also with an injury in the game. A big one, torn finger ligament and will be out a little over a month.

After playing the game I change to manual injuries and create these, using random number generator app to decide days injured with whatever injury they have. A real bummer with Sims as he was a quality setup guy. RP Josh Osich will be called up to replace Sims for the time being.

We are 3-3 on the young season with a three game set on the road vs the Pirates next, who are 2-4 so far in the season.

Cardinals finish Spring Training at 14-9

The Cardinals have finished Spring Training with a 14-9 record as they leave Florida for Cincinnati to get ready for Opening Day.

The Cardinals were solid in the Spring and avoided any major injuries which is always a plus. They did get a scare when Nolan Arenado left a game about a week prior to the end after being hit by a pitch but it was nothing more than a bruise and he's healthy for Opening Day.

The Cardinals will head to Cincinnati for a 3 game weekend series with the Reds to start the 2021 baseball season, as the chase to capture World Series title number 12 begins.

I've taken on the Reds as my second team (got hooked on Bauer and his blog and my wife is from southern Ohio). Randomed between them and Boston and got them so they will be the first franchise I do. Waiting on updated rosters, undecided on playing Spring Training.

Countyboy, how did you handle spring? Isn't it just the 40-man roster that you can use? I'm not sure I wanna have 14 AAA/AA guys just to choose from, I'd rather have more depth there but I don't want to move MLB guys off MLB roster and then lose an option year of them. Makes ST boring for me if there's no real camp battles.

Yes its just 40 man roster. I really hope in the not so distant future they allow us to have a larger roster for Spring because it does get annoying only using the same 40, but I still make the best out of it.

Cardinals shut out Reds on Opening Day

The Cardinals started off the 2021 season with an 8-0 victory over the Reds in Cincinnati. The Cardinals jumped out with a 5 run first inning knocking Sonny Gray out after 2/3 innings of work. They would add 3 more in the 7th to tally the scoring.

Yadier Molina got things started with a RBI single and then Tyler O'Neill added a 3 run double to get the Cards a crooked number on the board. Dylan Carlson then singled home O'Neill to cap off the inning.

In the 8th, Nolan Arenado and Paul Goldschmidt went back to back as the only two homeruns in the game.

Jack Flaherty went 7 innings but was removed after one pitch in the 8th due to shoulder discomfort. Flaherty allowed 3 runs over the 7 innings, 1 walk, and 7 strikeouts. Tyler Webb pitched a perfect 8th and 9th to close out the game.

The Cardinals and Reds will return to action Saturday as Adam Wainwright and Luis Castillo will square off.

Harrison Bader and Jack Flaherty to the IL

It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows for the Cardinals on Opening Day, as they lost Harrison Bader and Jack Flaherty to injury.

Harrison Bader was lost in the Top of the 1st due to fractured wrist when sliding into 2nd base. Bader will be out 2-3 months and was placed on the 60 day IL.

Lane Thomas was recalled from Memphis to fill the roster spot.

Jack Flaherty was added to the 15 day IL due to shoulder inflammation suffered in the 8th inning of the game. He's expected to only miss the 2 weeks.

Dakota Hudson was recalled from Memphis to fill the void in the rotation.

Matt Carpenter will move to 2nd base and Tommy Edman to left field and Tyler O'Neill will slide over to center.

Two huge blows to the Cardinals on Opening Day.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

                                Philadelphia Phillies
I'm an Oakland A's fan but wanted an NL team.
Simmed Spring Training and up to the first 9 games of the season just to have some stats on the board.
Playing 1 game of every series.

The Philadelphia Phillies look to finally end a 9 year playoff drought. Only the Mariners have gone longer without the playoffs.
With a strong starting pitching staff of Zack Wheeler and Aaron Nola, paired with the heavy bats of JT Realmuto, and Bryce Harper. Throw in the Sacramento native Rhys Hoskins for good measure and there is no reason this team shouldn't be competing for the playoffs every season. But then you remember the relievers and it suddenly all makes sense. The Achilles heel of the Phillies is that bullpen. But today is a new season and with the necessary adjustments, hopefully this team will be competing with the big hitting Braves and billionaire Mets for the playoffs and a chance at World Series glory.

Philadelphia @ Atlanta: Not much to say about the series opener against the Atlanta Braves. A 0-0 game through 9 after Zack Wheeler pitched a gem. 7 innings, 9 strikeouts and 1 hit by Acuna in the 5th. His teammates were seeing the ball but left 8 runners on base.
With a runner put on 2nd to start the 10th Philadelphia could do nothing until the final out which was at home plate. A double by Realmuto sent Andrew McCutcheon for home but he was tagged at the plate for the 3rd out within inches of the plate. Atlanta came up to bat and Acuna did Acuna things. With 1 out he hit a bloop single to center scoring Dansby Swanson.
In total Philadelphia 8 hits, 0 runs. Atlanta 2 hits, 1 run and the game. Braves remain in 1st place at 7-3 while the Phillies drop into a 3 way tie for 2nd with New York and Miami at 5-5

Sactown Born, LA Living. Music in my ears, soccer ball at my feet.
