MLB The Show 21 Franchise Discussion Thread

Bit of a shocker in my Padres franchise. The Dodgers are fully healthy but sitting at 10-14 and in 4th place. I’m leading the division at 23-11 about to begin a 4 game series vs the Rockies. Throwing Darvish, Snell, Lamet and clevinger.

After a torrid spring hitting .447, Wil Myers is off to an ice cold start hitting .179. Grisham also hovering around .200 and Cronenworth at around .205. Need to get them going. Luckily Manny, Tatis, Hosmer and Pham have more than picked up their slack.

Began my season with the Red Sox and played the first two games of my season. We started off hosting the Orioles and boy oh boy did they bring their bats to Boston.

J.D Martinez and Chris Sale were some of the highlights for the Red Sox as Martinez went yard, and Sale threw for 11Ks. In a 3-1 loss to the Baltimore Orioles.

In game two J.D Martinez and Xander managed to go deep but that was all the offense that my Red Sox could muster in a 6-4 loss. Martinez had two solo jacks and Xander a solo jack. Meanwhile Baltimore bats remained scorching hot as they lit us up for 14 hits.

I hear you. MLB20 is an absolutely great game. And I'm still playing a franchise in there until these bugs are fixed on 21. I just started a Cubs franchise there and I'm 5-5. I'm using McNaulty's 21 roster so I have an updated roster which his roster is awesome. One nice thing is about 20, the schedule is new cause they never used it since the short season.



One small thing I noticed is the scoreboards in the stadiums greatly improved from 20. That is a small thing but I like it. All the stadiums you see keep track of LOB. Now, most stadiums in 21 have that in the game where they didn't in 20. Check Petco Park and Yankee Stadium out. The scoreboard in SD is really cool. Even the Giants park keeps track of MVR in the game. That is cool but I believe the number is 7 and they put 2 there.



They did a really good job on David Ross. I'm surprised they even have Tony Larussa in the game.



I know you are wanting to start your Cubs franchise but play 20 for now and wait a couple of weeks for 21 to improve. At least until Ridin's roster comes out.

What bugs are you referring to? I don’t even know of any actual bugs that effect franchise mode. I just personally don’t like the tweaks made to it compared to MLB 20. But if there are actual bugs I’d certainly like to be aware of them.

What bugs are you referring to? I don’t even know of any actual bugs that effect franchise mode. I just personally don’t like the tweaks made to it compared to MLB 20. But if there are actual bugs I’d certainly like to be aware of them.

Just the roster vault and some of the presentation is having some issues. The announcers will say you are going for the sweep in the 2nd game of the series. The series recap is cool but it shows the wrong scores. It looks like the Angels have most of their games scheduled for day games.

If you do your own rosters the way you want them and don’t need to download rosters there is nothing that prevents you from doing a franchise. People on here are rolling with their franchise.

After one month of Baseball the Pirates have been a bit of surprise so far going 13-12.

The pitching has been the key keeping the club in games enough to squeak by wins.

some bright spots in the lineup are Kevin Newman hitting .343 and Gregory Polanco with 5 Homeruns. Everyone else though are all between .200 and .250. Hopefully the bats can warm up a little bit with the weather changing.

On the pitching side Steven Brault has been an ace so far with a 2.77 ERA along with Chad Kuhl posting a 2.12 ERA. Mitch Keller has been solid, with Tyler Alexander and JT Brubaker struggling. Might look to move cahill back into the rotation or call someone up.

The bulpen has been rock solid for us, with guys like Feliz, Crick, Buttrey, and Rodriguez carry the load. Richard Rodriguez has been perfect on saves so far going 11-11.

Notes:
Michael Perez went down with a Torn calf putting him on the shelf for 2-3 months

Called up John Ryan Murphy to be the backup

Chad Kuhl was injured in spring training with a strain hes on the IL for 10-15.

The other thing I forgot about is the extra innings rule being in 21. It’s not a deal breaker though. And I’m curious, does that rule even apply to playoff games?

I don't know if it applies to playoff games in the Show.

But you do have the ability to turn it off prior to starting a franchise.

Added in missing prospects/players (A.J Puk, Spencer Torkelson, Asa Lacy, etc...)

Removed SDS devs from roster (sorry devs)

Lowered potential for all players by 5 points (amazing how many grade drops will occur)


Please note that I do this within franchise while playing through Spring Training to keep it from being extremely tedious.

Sorry man, but I don't do the export/import players and all that, so I cannot answer.

Hopefully someone in the thread will know and be able to answer.

Yes

Within franchise, I edit names and likeness. I change their height, weight, age (if necessary), hometown, etc...

Dumb question. How do I add a player after I download them from the vault? I added Torkelson and downloaded him. I go to rosters and click on manage/import player. But I don't know where to go next.

I've only done it a few times, so this may be not 100 percent accurate:

You have to do it before going into Franchise. Once you're in Franchise, you can't import/export. You'll have to manually edit players once you've started your franchise.

In Roster Control, go to Manage Roster/Import Player. Find the player you want to replace and click X. Import Position Player will be one of the options. Click that and it will pull up your saved players. Click Import (I think) and it will overwrite the selected player with the import.

I *think* you can only overwrite position players with other position players and pitchers with other pitchers.
