That is actually a good article. They are saying they are looking in to making it to where you do NOT have to play DD to progress your RTTS!

Hopefully they truly are listening and it isnt all just lip service....

You never did have to play DD to progress in RTTS. That was misinformation pushed by people who did not fully understand the progression system or assumed differently because the archetype progression is bugged for so many.

Here is there statement

We’re looking into ways of making it clearer that playing DD should be completely optional to progressing your Ballplayer or RTTS advancement.

So it was always optional, just confusing for many.

I know we can do a pitcher/batter like Ohtani this year in RTTS.

Does anyone know if you can be a closer/batter? Or do they force you to be a SP?

Have you heard of any fixes for this? I was just about to reinstall the game. Also, Sounds of the show keeps unselecting my music. Chants and yells are there but not music assigned. It doesn't delete them just resets it. Are you going through this also?

Only way I've found it upgrade your stuff is to play DD. I got 2 points for playing a CPU game with my guy in the lineup. If he could've managed to steal a base i would've got like 3 more lol. But i was thrown out barely

Annoyed by the fact that when starting a new save file with a different pitcher type I don't get prompted to select my pitches and are stuck with what I selected the first time around.

RTTS is a total disaster. How they allowed it to go live when the basic methods of progression are broken is inexplicably awful. The player loadouts don't work, so you have to leave every series after each game to get those to work. But those are fundamentally stupid in any case. So if you're hitting as a SLUGGER, you have power numbers over 60, but if you pitch in an NL game, your power numbers will be in the 30s. I don't think this was very well thought out.

Even when everything is working (assuming they actually even properly address this mess), it still doesn't make sense that your hitter will be awesome on days he's playing the field, and then he'll become a mediocre at best bat on days he's pitching.

But the idea that progression is broken in RTTS is simply inexcusable.

I've purchased The Show religiously every year since it first came out, and I've never complained as the kinks are usually minor for RTTS players like me, but this makes the mode completely unusable, which defeats the entire purpose of throwing away money to gain early access via pre-order.

It's amateur hour at SDS, which is a shame, as they used to be a beacon of quality.

I am exclusively interested in RRTS. I won't touch or open any other mode.

Fair to say this thread has decided I won't be purchasing the game any time soon.

Which sucks because I was hype for what the next gen was going to bring.

No way to change pitches from one player to another. I want to be a knuckleballer. Not cutter, curve, change my default ones I chose. Bummer.

For everyone doing pitching, are you getting run support? I've pitched 5 games so far 3-2 with a 0.87 ERA. My games have been :

0-1, pulled in 6th
1-0, pulled in 6th
1-0, CG/SHO
1-0, pulled in 7th
2-3, 0-1 when i was pulled in the 5th

I feel like DeGrom out there

Truth. I might celebrate if my team can score 2 runs for me.

Why? You are not required to play any other mode besides RTTS. Despite the changes and everyone's hysterics RTTS can be played on it's own.

Now the changes are pretty drastic and you may or may not like them but don't fall for the naysayers who say you have to play DD to advance.

In theory that's true, but not in reality. At least not at the moment, because the progression method is broken and is not tracking stats towards the Silver Loadouts. If/when SDS decides to fix the issue, it's already a sunk cost for those who exclusively play RTTS and pre-ordered for early access. Those people got screwed and threw away extra money for nothing - for early access to a mode that is still fundamentally broken as of this moment.

It's amateur hour at SDS! There is no way around that.

RTTS should be the mode they've had long locked down, but they clearly didn't bother properly testing it after whatever latest tweaks they made before going live. It's simply inexplicable that they could allow that to happen. Server issues are one thing, but having a broken mode on RTTS - the mode that was their marquee game playing experience. No. It's inexcusable.

Same. I'm still in AA and I think I'm 4-1 with an ERA of about 1.3 or something. About 50 SO. Most of my games are 0-0 for about 7 innings it seems. I thought it was strange as well.

I don’t think people are saying you have to do DD by design. What people are saying is for most, including myself, archetypes do not level by currently playing RTTS. Yes their intention is to make it so you can, but for so many they can’t. So yes for those people they do indeed have to play DD to go anywhere in upgrading your archetypes.

There is no way to level up the loadout archetypes. It's amateurish that SDS could have such a grossly negligent oversight while still having the audacity to charge extra for early access.
