You can play on rookie mode and just destroy the game. But Playing on hall of fame and using the sliders to make the game a bit harder is not allowed. Makes total sense.

Yeah the "slider" limitations on XP is a poor argument at best. Default Rookie is BP and that's coming from someone who isn't even good at All-Star lol. If the "elite" players want to use offline to cheat/win, adjusting sliders would be a more involved process than simply turning it to "rookie" and watching balls explode.

This mode is unplayable until they make fixes to progression cause you never progress in the game i spent 3 seasons and i am still stuck at 72 ovr

While it is very hard I did find some work around. Not ideal shouldn’t have to do them but I just simulated like 10 seasons as a hitter then 10 as a pitcher. Your stats will go up, very slowly. Doesn’t help to progress the archtype but it will get your stats as close to 50 as the simulation can.

Also, I have found two way players almost never get called up. Least not quickly. It takes for some reason 2-3 seasons for a two-way player to be called up in my tests.

What I often suggest, pick one or the other and when you get to triple A and they ask if you wanna go back to being a two way say yes and you should be fine.

In my tests I have lvl93 shortstop with a 87 sp and any combo of a two way either pitcher first then hitter or hitter first then pitcher just never got to triple a first season let alone mlb. Second I just picked one every single simulation I would make it first season to the mlb.

I do feel it’s much slower simply do to how much of pain it is to level the archtype. Those archetypes level you up HUGE and make you a beast. But seeing as that is borked to high heaven regular leveling is all we got and it takes fricking forever.

I think because these stats are permanent due to DD they make the grind from 30 to 50 much longer cause of that.

Man, I just cant get over how slow progression is!

I dont mind a bit of a grind, but I am almost done with my first season in AA and am just a 62 ovr...I started off like a 59 ovr.

My biggest fear is being called up to the majors in season 2 and being a bench player with like a 63-64 ovr.

I have a 79 ovr Nico Hoerner ahead of me and no way I would start over him!

If my memory serves me correctly, by the end of the 1st season in last years game I was around a 70-73 ovr, so they definitely nerfed the hell out of progression!

The issue here is that our equipment and loadout is not being reflected in our OVR or stats. I have like a 33 power stat, but with my loadout it's 63. Except it doesn't show it.

Well archetypes and perk are reflected in your overall. Equipment though like always isn’t and I never understood why. If you look you can see the bonus points when looking at your stats it will say +x number above each and that is a reflection of the equipment.

This has been the case for equipment for a long time that it boosts you but doesn’t alter the overall.

If it makes you feel better, you are doing WAY better than I am!

I have played 3 full seasons and am just a 67 OVR SS...and I even bought two gold archetypes.

I really hope they fix the mission progression next week....I am TRYING to just enjoy the game, but being such a low rated player is not FUN...

Well, after FOUR FULL SEASONS I finally maxed an attribute....arm strength (playing SS).

So FOUR seasons to make 20 points in an attribute....how is that even remotely fun progression?

Bottom line, RTTS was MEANT to be played in DD as well...just my opinion. Why else put the level 50 caps in? Why else the ultra slow progression?

It should be a single player mode only with 99 attribute caps again!

I really hope they ARE listening like they said they were.

Oh and fix durability FFS....FOUR full seasons and with me training durability EVERY time I train, I am at 40 durability. So that means to max out durability, you would need to train it EVERY time and play EIGHT seasons!!!!

Oh and after four full seasons, I am just a 69 OVR....with two gold archetypes. I know mission progression is broken, but come on, who wants to be an average player in this mode?

While I do think they wanted you to progress the archtype in both, the other skills do not progress in DD. You can only improve them in RTTS. So it’s not really truth, if you never play RTTS your guy will never gain anything but the boosted archtype. That is nice, but all the stats will still be down to 30 cause if that choice.

Take your ballplayer anywhere. Any mode. You only get one avatar tho.. it's fine. You can take this guy to DD too. But we can't have you cheating by lowering sliders for max gains...so sliders stunt player progression. No...sliders, HALT player progression. Fair is fair.

I’ve been playing player lock on franchise and having the most fun I’ve had since playing in 2017 because I can level my player exactly how I want. I actually have speed and can hit for power again.

I read for the archetype system back in 18 SDS spoke with major leaguers how they think a progression system should work, ummm they are already in the Majors, maybe ask your fans who actually buy the game what they want. For the most part we want a game where we can make the major leagues as the bad *** player we envision ourselves being in our dreams.

But it’s not truth. If the progression of the archtypes worked the way they were supposed to then everything would have just be in RTTS. RTTS has a lot of things borked in general but your statement that’s truth that makes it seem they wanted you to do it in both cause that’s what the statement you highlighted is talking about.

So many things are wrong and just not working, but as it stands if they were DD would just be an afterthought for the ballplayer as the only way to maximize the ballplayer is to play solely in RTTS.
