Re: MLB21 RTTS Mode Gutted by SDS
But it’s not truth. If the progression of the archtypes worked the way they were supposed to then everything would have just be in RTTS. RTTS has a lot of things borked in general but your statement that’s truth that makes it seem they wanted you to do it in both cause that’s what the statement you highlighted is talking about.
So many things are wrong and just not working, but as it stands if they were DD would just be an afterthought for the ballplayer as the only way to maximize the ballplayer is to play solely in RTTS.Comment

Re: MLB21 RTTS Mode Gutted by SDS
That said, RTTS needs so many things done. A archtypes just need to start progressing. I got a diamond fielding one simply cause it’s easy to get the put outs you need to level up in DD. I didn’t want to play DD but I did to get that. With that said there is almost no way I can do the other archtypes in any meaningful way fast with DD or RTTS. I would prefer soley RTTS and not need to even try DD.
Second, attributes need a HUGE boost in leveling them in RTTS. They need to be like 3-4 times faster. The rate is stupid slow. I only got some leveled up cause I simulated some seasons as that will level up some of your attributes. You shouldn’t though need to find ways to game the system to get them at a pace that makes sense.
Those to me are the biggest issues I feel with RTTS right now. With all that said if the improvements I just said come into play I feel it would play a lot better for people.
Also I am gonna add two way player call up needs to be fixed. Through several tests I found it is almost impossible to be called up first season as a two way player regardless how well you do. If you pick one or the other you will get to the majors in the first year though if you are good enough. I think that’s insane that I can be a .350 hitter with a 1.5 era and that’s not good enough but if I simulate just a hitter and the simulation shows me at .150 or just a pitcher and my era is 5.0 I will get called up to the majors every time. That makes zero sense.Last edited by ExarKub00720; 04-25-2021, 12:15 PM.Comment

Re: MLB21 RTTS Mode Gutted by SDS
The only missions I can advance are the DD missions. I have a lineup for missions for different players and I just put him in at 2nd. I just put him in the lineup to get innings. He gets lucky and gets a seeing eye single occasionally. Cannot get any progression in RTTS for the missions, its pretty much useless to play right now until they fix the progression. Really disappointing how bad RTTS is messed up right now, nothing seemingly works correctly.Comment

Outside of that, we are screwed on fast ways to level up any of the archtypes. Even though they all work in DD too it’s still too long for most of them to be meaningful.Comment

Re: MLB21 RTTS Mode Gutted by SDS
Play the 3 game’s you need to play, one pitching 2 hitting then the game will ask you what kind of player you want to be. Now I don’t know for certain if you can pick ONLY being a closer, but there will be an option if you choice to tweak your two way style to be a closing pitcher.Comment

Something inherently wrong when pay-to-win aspects come into RttS. I just can't believe this is what SDS thought would be the way to go for RttS players. What was wrong with actually playing the game to garner points to upgrade your RttS player? No, you have to add equipment, archtypes, etc...Insane.est 1978

Re: MLB21 RTTS Mode Gutted by SDS
But to make that comparison we have to ignore the bugs and assume things were working as intended in RTTS and look at the two modes.
-- You don't get base attribute gains in DD so, if anything, DD players are forced to play RTTS to get their ballplayer to the max.
--Some people look at the lower mission requirements as a way to say that this is meant to be played in DD. Yes 3 hits and 5 innings played in DD seems a lot easier than 8 hits and 20 AB needed in RTTS (for the sparkplug archetype). But most people forget that in DD you have to bat every at bat and pitch every pitch. If you bat your ballplayer at leadoff you will need 19 at bats just to get him to the plate 3 times. Meanwhile in RTTS you can bounce from one at bat to the next really quickly. Accumulating 5 innings played means you will have to bat a minimum of 15 batters and pitch to a minimum of 15 batters.
The problem many people have is drawing conclusions on RTTS in it's current broken state. Granted we have not even seen it in a non broken state yet so it is hard not to do that.Comment

You might say they shifted that idea to perks and gear but in the end it isn’t much different from before they changed how attributes worked in 18. You could back then just play and gain points to put in the attributes you wanted. You can now do the same, play and you will unlock gear, cards, perks etc for your guy to use for free.
Playing in DD to level up your guy while annoying, has no economic incentive to do so. In fact the main way to level up to ur player is in RTTS. While profession is broken for archtypes I think people are focusing on the DD element WAY to much.
I played the fielding archtype cause I wanted to level up and I didn’t wanna wait for them to fix it. It’s pretty much the only one you can level fast cause as a catcher put outs count for strike outs when you catch. Quick leveling, should I have had to do that no. I can tell you though the way I did it I didn’t pay a single dime. I just did conquest an offline DD mode with whatever crap players they gave me over and over and over till I got it up to diamond.
There is no pay to win element for RTTS that wasn’t already there before. You can say you don’t like the buying of gear to make yourself better and maybe you could make a good argument on that, but that has been the way since 18 and you could use stubs to just buy attributes before that. It isn’t new, so we shouldn’t act like it is.Last edited by ExarKub00720; 04-26-2021, 11:50 AM.Comment

Re: MLB21 RTTS Mode Gutted by SDS
Not sure you want to play full games, but if you do focus on the fielding archtype and play as catcher and can strike out a lot of people you can level that archtype really fast. Each strike out will be a put out which levels up the archtype. Might not be the one you wanna level but I found it stupid fast. Got diamond with it and everything. I don’t think I can do the others the same way without loosing my mind.Comment
