I know my word holds no weight because I just made this account, but I made it to post in this thread. I play this game as competitive/sweaty as possible and currently sit on the 1st page of the online ranked leaderboard. I play a bit of all the game modes, but usually play at HOF or Legend settings. I've been sweating out games in every mode since 07. I agree with OP that there's some comeback code in this game. I'm not saying it happens every game, I think it actually happens more infrequently this game than last year, but some games just play different at times. I notice it the same way OP does. Its when contact located in certain spots in the PCI start acting differently than usual all of the sudden. I'll never be able to prove it to anyone here, but just wanted to add my 2cents for some reason. I don't think you're crazy OP lol. Let the flaming resume.

I have a question. I don't user the controller. I'm 100% manage mode. I do see more home runs late in games from the team that is behind.

To counteract this I switched to Forbes as my home field but that cause other problems with far too many low scoring games and my hitters' attributes regressing.

If I ever get a ps5 I would build a stadium pitcher friendly but not extreme like Forbes.
My question is this - is there such a thing as power swing? I never believed in comeback code but I do suspect late in games the cpu is programmed to swing for the fences when trailing.

In the OP's case it was he who was hitting the 9th inning hrs., he just didn't feel they were earned. Yes there is an actual power swing in the game, not sure if he was using it.

they all show a lack of nuanced thinking and it reflects this forum as of the last few years imo. It seems the demo of people posting here has gotten younger. I'm not going to dox myself and verify any of this to you parky but I played competitive baseball at a very high level and still work in baseball currently. People should either respond to OP about his opinion or not post. Nuanced discussion on this forum has really gone downhill

You'd have a point if this wasn't an annual thread from the OP dating back about a decade, in reference to something that quite clearly doesn't exist in the game no less.

While I'm sure you're working as a GM at a major league team, after a 10 year career in the bigs, that has no bearing on this thread or the responses to it.

Is there really any discussion left to have when it’s the same thread every year? If it was a fresh complaint people probably wouldn’t be flaming it. Sure you can dislike certain aspects of a game but if there’s something that bothers you so much you open a big thread post complaining about it every year, then maybe it’s time to stop giving that company that still hasn’t fixed it your money and move on.

There’s really nothing new to discuss. May as well just revive the same thread once a year instead of making a new one to complain about the same thing every year
