    Re: Manage only thread

I've been exclusive MoM all summer, running various postseasons with historic season rosters. Running my first '21 postseason on the PS5. BLSRed75 created a quite impressive '83 set.

I've never used historic rosters. One of the best teams I've ever watched was Whitey Herzog's 82 Cardinals. They did the intangibles right. They played smart baseball. I wonder how they do in a computer game.

If the pinch hitter gets a hit, sim the rest until the 3r out and a pitcher will come in.
Here's what I did yesterday. Pinch hit for pitcher leading off an inning. I waited until 2 outs before saving and exiting. Then re-entered the game and simmed - and I need to work on simming because I never did it during a game until now - when I came back to the game my position player was on the mound. Went to the bullpen and was stuck in the bullpen.

Exited and loaded the in game save and a weird thing happened. The position player was on the mound and I waited until he had faced 3 batters before replacing him but I was no longer in my created stadium. I was in the empty template of a stadium with only walls, dugout and bullpen. It was actually kind of cool to be playing in that empty atmosphere. MLB game in the middle of nowhere.

Lesson is you apparently have to sim immediately upon pinch hitting to the end of the inning. I need to practice that because it goes fast.

When will the fix this? Anybody's guess. I wouldn't be surprised if they wait until 2022 and call it a new feature.

Talking to Hammerhunker.....if you schedule your relief pitcher to come in when you pinch hit.....it will bring him in. You don’t have to sim anything. Just tried it and it works. After the inning transitioned it brought in the pitcher I had warming up.

Thanks. Good thinking on your part.

I decided to zero out the dynamic difficulty setting and so far through 23 spring training games and 12 regular season games, it appears to help with the gradual decline in offensive production. Just coming off an 11 run, 15 hit game after a bit of a slump on offense. Hopefully this is part of a solution for manage only issues with offensive output.

What do you mean schedule your pitcher to come in when you pinch hit?

Ok.......if you pinch hit for the pitcher and, after that half inning is over, the pinch hitter will be on the mound. If you go to the bullpen (and you had a pitcher warming up) there is no option to bring in that pitcher. It’s gone. You will be frozen in the bullpen.

So, when you initially want to warm up a pitcher go to the bullpen....warm up your pitcher, then go back into the bullpen and you’ll see “schedule to bring in pitcher”. Do that. Then when you pinch hit it will bring in that pitcher. Otherwise you are screwed.

This glitch also has taken away the double switch option.

SDS almost destroyed MOM with the patch before this one today. Without the workaround it would have.

I can understand somethings, but this not being fixed is a head scratcher.

And I am continually a dummy, forgetting to schedule the pitcher to come in. Sure can ruin a good game that's going on.

Proof that MoM is the abandoned crippled ugly mangy mutt at the dog pound to SCEA. And at one time it worked fine.

Not to mention that I still have the issue with scheduling a pitcher to come in and their stamina is automatically gone by about 25% (when they should be at 100%). Doesn't happen all of the time, but happens enough that I've stopped using the feature because I never know when it will happen. Ugh....

I submitted two bug reports. One under gameplay and another under franchise.

Whether or not it does any good is anybody's guess. I think they are overwhelmed trying to produce and patch a game for 4 platforms.

That's probably because the pitcher isn't fully recovered from his last appearance. How fast they recover is related to the durability attribute.

I’ve been submitting bug reports all along. What I don’t understand is how close they came to completely making this mode unplayable with a patch. No partial workaround and our MOM baseball season is o-v-e-r.

It happens when they are fully recovered as well. Even happens in Play Now games. Drives me crazy.
