    CPU using relievers too long.

Does anyone have a solution for this? Does every relievers' stamina have to be lowered? I feel like I play so many games where a starter is taken out in the 4th or 5th (even if its not a blowout) and then the relieve pitches 2 innings at least every time, sometimes 3 innings. This just isn't realistic at all. Any help would be appreciated.

I haven't played enough to endorse myself but others here have said that bullben usage is improved by setting both stamina sliders to 8 and the manager hook slider to 4.

Another thing some people do is have a manager hook setting for the starter and then change to 10 for the rest of the game when the CPU pulls the starter.

Don't touch stamina sliders (editing them is a huge mistake if you want player ratings to be respected). Instead, lower manager hook to 4.

That will keep SPs in a bit longer, adds dynamicism to CPU managerial decisions (they will be more apt to stick with a guy a bit longer - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't). In most cases, it stretches SPs out a couple more innings and allows the AI to use their bullpen far more effectively.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

The slider set I use had manager hook at 4, but I felt that starters were being left in too long. Thus, I moved it back to 5. HOWEVER, it is an interesting point that it may help the issue of relievers being left in too long. I really wish they would have a separate hook setting for starters and relievers, a la OOTP. I think that would give us the best of both worlds.

There's also the issue of relievers being used three or four days in a row far too frequently. I'd love to hear ideas on how to fix THAT.

We use manager hook at 2 for SP, then raise to 10 once RP comes in. Works perfectly!

Having to do that every game seems very tedious. It shouldn't have to be that way. And further, that kind of agrees with my point of having a different slider for starters vs. relievers.

I agree, I don’t like having to change sliders in the middle of the game every game. I like it to just set as is. Separate hook sliders for starters and relievers is a must! We don’t really need the stamina in the sliders as pitchers already have stamina attributes hooked to them, so just replace the sliders with hooks for starters and relievers. Problem solved!

The problem with removing stamina sliders all together, at least in my experience, is that starters don't last all that long on the default stamina setting.

I know this is all falling on deaf ears. The developers wouldn't change this unless it impacted their money making modes.

I have found the magic combo to be starter stamina 6, relief stamina 5, and manager hook 3. The starters don't go much longer at 6 and the 3 for manager hook is very effective.

I am not a fan of the 8/8/4 as it never yielded the results I wanted. And the mid game changes are a pain to be honest.

Set it to 6/5/3 and go.

It takes literally 5 seconds to do lol. And it's just once the SP is yanked. But tbh leaving it at 2 they USUALLY still pull RP after just one inning unless it's their LRP. Bullpen logic is best it's ever been this year. Doing this just makes it even better. To each their own

Yeah that is true but to be fair starters doesn’t last nowadays either lol. And that’s the point for the hook, lower the hook, pitchers last longer. Higher, short outings.

I know they won’t change the sliders as it’s been the same for years but it’s an idea if they ever bump into this thread and something for them to think about.

It’s even worse in quick manage. I’ve always hit and then quick manage my pitching all the way back to mlb 13. This years game is horrible about having relievers go 2-3 innings, at least for my team. They should be gassed after 2 innings maxed, obviously 1 to 1 2/3 or so would be more realistic. Still a great game but these issues in 2021 are somewhat a joke.
