    Carry Over Saves

As we went from MLB 20 the Show to MLB 21 the Show it came as quite a shock to learn that carry over saves were not possible. I had already put quite a bit of work into a roster which I would never end up using not to mention all the historic rosters created over the years by endless hours of work of others which could not transfer over. Yet, given the change in roster size to 26 players and the creation of an X-Box version of the game, it was understandable that it would likely be quite difficult if not impossible to make carry overs of roster, franchises etc. possible.

That being said, it is my strongest wish that carry over saves from MLB 21 the Show to MLB 22 the Show be made possible.

Thanks to the infection of DD and their little card packs into almost all aspects of the game, year to year saves will remain a thing of the past.

Hopefully not! Without carry over saves I may after 13 years skip next year.

SDS is well aware of its popularity and the strong desire from the community for it to return.

I fully expect it to return either next year or ‘23.

If o knew Carey over saves were in 2/ I’d buy 21 now to carry it over for next game

I’ll be buying 22 for sure Cleveland name change and time for a upgrade next year to ps5 version. unless they do a EA and continue to remove things and only focus on DD

I’m skipping this year completely otherwise. The delayed till April no import rosters and y2y saves had me skipping this year but as I said I’d get it now for the $70 special in the past store now if I knew I could carry over a save and rosters to 22.

I'll keep playing MLB 20 until it comes back or until they make drastic improvements to franchise mode.

I agree. I'm very happy with MLB 20. I've been playing the same franchise since MLB 16, and it's going to take something HUGELY amazing to get me to give it up. I started playing The Show with the MLB 15 version, and 21 is the first one for me to skip. There's just no need to get it.

                Juzbee,
I couldn’t agree with you more. I’ve bought every year since about 2013. 2021 is the first year I’ve skipped since. Unless they bring back Y2Y or do something truly amazing I’m sticking with MLB 20.

                  Re: Carry Over Saves

I stuck with 20 since I am a classic roster guy. Did not buy 21.

SDS chose not to include carry overs, not because it could not be done, but because it was a complexity they did not want to spend time or money on based on available budget.

Since it affected the part if the game I play and enjoy the most, I decided against purchasing the 21 game. I will most likely do the same for 22 since there are very few classic rosters available in 21.

                  Just my $.02...

                    Re: Carry Over Saves

For me it's not just year-to-year saves. MLB 21 caters to the Diamond Dynasty crowd. They completely nerfed check swings where they're almost impossible. And overall I don't like the graphical overlays. Plus MLB 20 has Sounds of The Show. There's just so many things to love about MLB 20. I really hope they have a renewed focus on franchise mode in MLB 22 but I'm definitely not holding my breath for it.

If you think about it and look back on the, "improvements," to franchise mode over the last 5-6 years there's really been no actual improvements that are noteworthy. One year the big focus was, "phases," which was just plain laughable. They didn't actually add anything new, they just made it so the game listed things differently in the menus. The next year was the budgets being changed around a bit, and while that may be a good change (I honestly don't even know for sure) it's not anything that's really earth-shattering.

I want to see complete overhauls for AI lineup/rotation and especially bullpen management. And they need to fix the postseason roster issues, it's a mess. You have to have your guys on the active roster on September 1st for them to be eligible. They need to make it so anyone on the 40-man can be selected. They need to add alternating interleague schedules instead of having us play the same interleague teams year after year.

And so, so much more that I've listed a million times (as have many of us).

Overall the franchise mode in MLB The Show is pretty good. The problem is that its just been the same for 10+ years with very little in the way of real, actual improvements.

At this point, I'm not sure it will matter to me if they re-introduce Y2Y saves in order for me to purchase their game going forward. I know I am in the minority as other people will always cape for SDS no matter what but without Y2Y saves and what they did to RttS, MLB '20 is very likely the last game I buy from them.

Why is everything always DD fault? I get some people don’t like the mode, but the bashing is ridiculous at times. I would assume it has more with it being cross gen now if anything.

The problems (or at least the lack of improvements) in franchise and Road to the Show are undoubtedly tied to Diamond Dynasty. San Diego Studios spends the majority of their time, money, and effort on their online mode because that's what makes them hundreds of millions of dollars every year. It's a smart business decision, it just suck for people that only enjoy franchise and RttS. It's been this way for years and over the last few iterations it's become clear just how neglected franchise mode is in sports games.

For The Show it's quite clear in the fact that they literally have one guy that works on franchise mode that works for them. They don't have a team, and they don't dedicated time to it. One single dude, that's it.
