If that happens, I am going to have some fun with it....put some guys in some fun places....totally change the landscape of the league. I'll just cobble together my own roster to import into the mode.

well it is more then likely gonna be 14 teams in playoffs. sooooo

There is SDS marketing for 2023 for franchise '14 team playoffs lets market that to get people excited next year lets not update that for this year',

When you think of M2O as well. there is ZERO chance that any new playoff format makes it into the game this year.

        Nope, looks like 12 teams.

Sounds like both sides are staying to finish this… Please be true!!

Yay new deadline 5pm let’s pray!!!

I can live with 12 teams. Mlb the show can’t though lol isn’t that a ghost win now? No way that making the game this year they woukd need to rewrite m2o and franchise

They are even taking about the shift, can we turn shift off in the game if they change this?

Yea I gotta imagine deal is done tomorrow! Seems like both sides are rounding 3rd at this point.

If deal is tomorrow, I can not wait to see the signings, trades unfold… Its gonna be a real march madness!

Yeah, no way they talk until 2:30 am after 15 hours and not get this done today. The players will come down on the luxury tax to get some more bonus pool money.

I'm curious how much of an impact, if any at all, a lockout will have on sales?

MLB is excepted to announce delay of 2022 regular season.

I think the lockout will effect sales quite a lot actually. but then again people might want 'some' baseball in their lives and the game is the best to get that.. but any casual baseball fans or gamers will probably pass.

                        Re: MLB lockout

I for one am not planing on purchasing. I won't say it's 100% because of the lockout/cba(I've yet to see any improvements for me personally that warrent a pick up), but it is playing a factor.

With more than likely new rules and expanded playoffs etc, it would be hard for the show to get that stuff in(baring a patch, but I don't know enough about programing to speak on that). As someone who likes as much realism as possible, that is swaying my decision. If I have to play a game with the "old rules" if you will, may as well just save my money.

Plus, as others have said, the default roster is gonna be a mess for sure.

                          Re: MLB lockout

Yeah I’ve been going back and forth about whether to start a new franchise or just play’21.

I’m now leaning towards sticking with’21. Not the lockout per se but with rosters being a mess likely I don’t want to create a fantasy roster by signing guys to where I think they will go when I have that currently.

I’ll buy the game because I collect video games, especially baseball, but unless something in the upcoming premieres floors me, it won’t be on release day.

I figure most baseball fans that would play the Show because of the spare time they have owing to the lockout are probably the kind of fan that already plays the Show

what I think is much more likely is fans that normally would buy the Show, a good chunk of them will be so upset with players and owners they would rather take a Nolan Ryan heater to the nether regions than further line those two pockets. its a good thing they have the Nintendo as another console to market to. Sony may need those sales to right the ship

Yeah, I'm 100% sure I'll buy it eventually. But it most likely won't be until stuff is sorted out in real life and seeing if/how it effects the game. And most likely when there is a se or price drop
