Owners are suggesting 4 weeks of ST cause in 2020 when it was shorten there were more injuries.

I’m surprised the players didn’t decline the offer already.

I wish they would just say okay let’s play with no CBA and keep negotiating.

that 2020 spring training thing is a myth though. remember we had players train for 3 weeks. then it stopped. then they did nothing for 4 months. then spring training was back then the injuries happen. we really can't base that off 2020 totally different situation and there was 4 more months off offseason.

I get it, from a fan's perspective that's desirable, but playing without a CBA would be a complete and absolute win for the owners.

I agree, there is not a chance they play without a CBA in place.

The players might, but the owners have locked them out.

but if that were true, why bother with the December 2nd lockout? if the owners felt strongly enough in favor of a lockout to get a favorable CBA, then caving in to play w/o a CBA is hardly a win for mgmt. IMO

on topic: is there any line of discussion on the lockout that can be concretely tied to the Show 22? or has this thread become a de facto secondary thread from the main lockout thread in the pro baseball forum?

A lot of things would bother me if the season get shortened but none more so than the fact that Wainwright and Molina need 20 starts together this season to set the all time record for most starts as a battery. They both need to stay healthy though and would need pretty much a full season.

While not the sexiest record in the record books, it is one I don't see getting broken again, at least in my time.

I read that. I hope they do get it. Even coming from a Cubs fan. They even said that they don't think that record will ever be broken. I almost guarantee you that even if the season is short, they will find a way to get it done. Even if it is Wainwright coming out to pitch the first inning or the first 3 batters. Would still be considered a start. I can see them doing that towards the end to make sure they get it.

Now the question is, would that way feel legit, or would that feel like cheating?

They would probably already have the record if it had not been for Wainwright missing all of or the biggest part of several seasons during his career.

Jesus christ, today's meeting lasted 15 minutes... And the PA increased the bonus pool money ask to $115 mil from $100 mil.

My ****ing god, we def arent starting season anytime soon.

Nope....At this point I'm so disappointed I'm to the point where I don't even care if there is a season or not. I'm been on the players side but if they really wanted to truly play the game, they would have made a better offer. Not saying they should just say okay we'll take the deal. But come down from their $100 to say $60. Maybe the owners would take that as okay they are making a serious offer we can go up to $30. Hey, let's settle at $45.

But no the players make a lateral offer (I think or could be wrong but it looks like less players eligible but they raised the price). You don't raise the price when you are still $100 apart.

Going to a car dealsership...hey bud that car is $30K. Well, what about $5K? Dealer says okay, we can go down to $29K. Well, how about $4K and you take out the floor mats?

Haha yea, Im starting to accept it more and more each day.

The PA is being really ****ing stupid here... They arent going to win back everything they've lost so stop it now and make a legit lower price on that bonus pool $.

I love baseball..and it pains me to say this, but...if they don't care about playing this season, why should I?

                                We'll see.
