I gotta feeling these clowns have forgotten what 1994 felt like.
I figure it'll take them to shorten the season for a couple weeks and the resulting fan backlash to wake them up enough to strike a deal. at this point, I see at least a weeks worth of games being cancelled. which is fine with me because spring training probably ought to be 2-3 weeks and the regular season schedule ought be 154 games. sometimes less is more, even though admittedly I consume too much baseball and I'd eat a 180 game schedule also too as well lol

I’ll believe it when I see it at this point.

In that Bleacher Report there were also two quotes that don't get my hopes up:

TC Zencka of MLB Trade Rumors countered Heyman's latest report, saying a deal is still "not close."

Bob Nightengale of USA Today argued that "it would take a miracle for deal to come together by Monday."

                  Re: MLB lockout

I selfishly just want a deal done so that Wainwright/Molina have a chance to set the all time records for most games as a battery. If they fail because one of them gets injured then that is one thing, but if they fail because there are not enough games in the season after this nonsense I will be very upset.

Let’s not forget all the stadium staff, concession staff, grounds crews and nearby restaurant and bar staffs that will lose income due to a prolonged work stoppage.

As if the pandemic hasn’t hurt these people enough.

Unless the players don’t want to show all their cards now. If they confirm that they are close to a deal, the owners won’t give much else.

If I was Scherzer, I wouldn’t pull up in negotiations in a Porsche crying the players are not making enough. LOL

Should have got a old beater car and pulled up in that.

close to a deal?? lol how long is a piece of string?? not a chance we are close. what is gonna happen is the deadline will be missed THEN the talk will actually stop because the urgency will be dead and it will drag out for weeks like 2020 when we could have had 100 games we had 60.. the same thing will happen here.

friggin depressing I hope everyone canceled their MLB TV in time don't forget to do that or they will charge you your annual fee for ZERO. we should be watching spring training games right now. I feel like 2020 again

Yeah, I agree. If there is no deal by tomorrow, all urgency will be lost. No deal tomorrow means we won’t see baseball until at least June.

                              MLB lockout

I think this lockout is really going to mess up the default roster when the game is released. If all the unsigned players are in the free agent pool it will likely really throw off the rosters from being balanced.

Another problem is teams under CPU control do not typically sign any free agents during spring training or the first month or two of the season. So letting the CPU sort out the free agents likely means guys like Freeman and Bryant remain unsigned for months into the season.

In 21, the CPU did sign some free agents in the first part of the season. Osuna seemed to go to the Tigers in my franchises.
