I guess this has become the new normal the last 2-3 years but the Super Bowl is close, so you know Show 22 news is also too as well

It’s been around or after the Super Bowl as of late. So I’d say it’s not late at this point. Many years ago we would get info shortly after Christmas. But that hasn’t been the case for a while.

Not saying a trailer is imminent, but given the lockout status, if they showed a trailer would they be allowed to show player likeness in it? Or would everything have to be really obscured in that regard?

            They could show player likeness

this would be a great time for the Show to highlight the people of baseball that truly make this game great and the real reason millions of souls enjoy the sport, the executives. and the Studio can start by putting one of the owners on the cover. the most logical choice is Derek Jeter.

that is if Manferd doesn't intervene and make himself posterchild for 22.
or maybe the best we could hope for is like Show 17 when they went with a retired legend in Junior, so maybe Bud Selig should be on the cover. and the Studio ought to make Selig as hip as Tatis on 21, by having Bud appear shirtless on the cover.

my biggest fear right now is next year the NFL expands to 18 regular season games and adds 8 more teams to the playoffs, pushing the Super Bowl into a real March Madness and the first news we get on Show 23 is after St. Patty's Day

Cool. In franchise mode I'm the proud owner of Midwest Farmers who play their home games at Country Mile Field.

Maybe they will put me on the cover alongside an aerial view of Country Mile Field?

actually an aerial view showing off one of the best created stadiums from 21 would be a fantastic idea

Put Bonds in the hall on the condition his likeness is finally added to MLBTS, throw him on the cover and watch the world burn

                      I'd be okay with this.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Just a sign of life at this point would be great. I recall getting the full fact sheet in the late 2000's roughly mid December.

                          A) I've been following this series here since the first PS3 version and I don't remember any fact sheets before January.

                          B) Even if you are right, those game launched end Feb/early Mar and the new normal is the end Mar/early Apr to now coincide with the normal start of the season, so yeah it's completely logical for promo stuff to shift about a month also.

I remember MLB 09 The Show specifically and its fact sheet being released before Christmas. Pastapadre is known as somewhat of a turd in the community, so it’s with some regret that I’m using this link as proof of the aforementioned.

Today SCEA officially announced MLB 09: The Show via press release along with the complete fact sheet. Though much about the game has already been revealed through previews they have summed up the main new features and gone into detail on more. Still to come is confirmation of Dustin Pedroia as the cover athlete which

It’s release date was March 03, which also puts into question the idea of things shifting by a month. It’s more like two months, realistically. I think their new marketing strategy has coincided with their growth, in addition to coincidental timing with which they stopped engaging with the community on a regular basis. It feels like a punishment to us, but I’m sure there is some statistic they’re using to justify marketing their product a month before release. Social media has grown significantly since those days, so getting the word out probably requires less time and effort than it used to as well. There are countless theories — pick one, i’m sure you’ll be close.

How is this a punishment? I dont feel punished lol It does not provide me any benefit in getting a fact sheet or a video of the show in December as opposed to February.
