I would like that in franchise mode, when creating our team, we could add at least one alternate jersey, it is frustrating to play an entire season with only two uniforms.

      Good review Bob.

Agree with your take in regards to the hitting and pitching. I wasn't sure what was different but something felt different almost immediately. I wasn't sure what to think but the more I played, the more I appreciated these subtle changes and how they provided a different, better, experience during the game versus that of '21.

And the new animations that stuck out most to me were how outfielders caught/approached fly balls or balls that they fielded to either side instead of directly in front of them. Nothing that is extremely drastic, but again subtle things that are appreciated as the innings and hours pile up.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I don't know if this is new to the game

          I would love that also.

Couldn't play the tech test because I live in Europe but this was a good read, thank you!
Curious about the new animations and the new commentary.

With a US account you could. Takes 5 minutes to make one. Maybe you could try it for next year.

              Back to the topic:

“That said, unlike the ball physics and flight paths, the new details in the stadiums and their surroundings hit me instantly. They also continued to have an impact each time I fired up the tech test to play.”

I must say I haven’t noticed any new details stadium related…the hills in LA still look like ps2 renders. I mean everything way behind the backdrop sure, fine, I can live with that area not being up to par with the rest, but what you (always) see directly in the hitters eye should not be of a lesser texture or quality than the rest of the stadium, it takes away from the immersion. And don’t get me started over the water in San Francisco.

I'm still playing practice mode and keeping stats manually and making pitching changes as needed. Cheesy but that's one way to keep playing it.

Wonder if they have worked on outfielders' ability to rob home runs. Some outfielders specialist in robbing homers. Have anyone seen any outfielder climb the wall for the catch?

When stealing a base why is there a slight hesitation before the runner take off? I know some average base runners trying to steal they will stumble. Mainly I speaking about elite base stealers with hesitation. Wished they could touch that up.

Good question, along with runners returning to their bases on a base hit for a sec even when I manually advance them. On MANUAL control. Got thrown out at plate the other day when my guy on 3rd ran back to bag on a sure hit.

Sometimes the runner won’t start until the ball is half way to home plate. Maybe it’s a timing issue on the user end. I tried different methods with the same outcome. On Xbox series S when you hold LT to steal you can feel the vibration to let you know he is going for the steal.

I didn’t get to play all that much, so it’s a small sample size. But it seemed like I had no problems hitting singles, and home runs. Doubles and triples were a different story. I got a few doubles, but no where near a realistic amount. Anything hit to the gap that should have been a double always seemed to hang just long enough for a fielder to get to.

Is there a reason why MLB The Show can’t add the real announcers like NBA 2k22 did for the correct ball parks.
