I think Extra Innings should stay as it was last year as for a toggle option to have it or not (like the DH)

as for playoffs I give 0% chance there is no way they can get that into the game in 2 weeks time. which by then the game would be GOLD we never got that wild card game in 2012 we had to wait a year if you remember. M2O would be the biggest issue here how it is scripted in. they would have to re-code and add in everything for that playoff system.

I agree! I did not like it for real life but in the Show found it helpful to avoid those 20 inning games.

Their is also talk about expanding it to 28 player rosters too.. so that will screw the game up as well having that added in this year sadly.

Don’t forget tiebreakers are gone too so they would have to really re code the playoffs. To fix that up. It’s just to much work for 2 weeks

Expanded rosters is only for a certain period of time early this season, will be back at 26 after that.

Like someone said in another post. I think it is not much of trying to code it really fast in 2 weeks but to test it and make sure it doesn't break other things will be the issue.

There’s no way that the new playoff system makes it in this year. The game releases in less than a month and they’re more than likely just putting the finishing touches on it at this point. When the extra wild card was added it didn’t make it in the game until the following year so I can’t see this being any different.

Late to take it out. However I bet next year it’s gone. It would mean taking double switching and all those options out of the game too

There’s no way that the new playoff system makes it in this year. The game releases in less than a month and they’re more than likely just putting the finishing touches on it at this point. When the extra wild card was added it didn’t make it in the game until the following year so I can’t see this being any different.

Agree on this but the only caveat is.... Iit was pretty much a guarantee that there was going to be some sort of playoff expansion. f they had any foresight, \ they "could" have coded in 14 and 16 team playoff options from the get-go and have it be something you can chose. So basically not necessarily putting in what was agreed upon by the union and mlb, but creating a more generic custom playoff system like nba 2k.

Seems like a win/win for development because say no expanded playoffs were agreed upon.. im sure ppl would still be ecstatic with the idea of a custom playoff system or being able to choose how many teams were in the playoffs.

I think the idea would be allowing custom playoffs. EXP in 2k you can choose ho how many teams, how many games in each round , etc.

The only way it makes it in this year is if they devs had a code for the possible expansion made. And even if they did that might would be something that would have to be patched in. (if that isn't even possible.)

My guess is we'll see the expanded playoffs next year due to timing of the announcement. I doubt a patch is really a viable option for something like this.
