The only way it makes it in this year is if they devs had a code for the possible expansion made. And even if they did that might would be something that would have to be patched in. (if that isn't even possible.)

My guess is we'll see the expanded playoffs next year due to timing of the announcement. I doubt a patch is really a viable option for something like this.

The code tricky remember no tiebreakers they would have to completely change the way that works if 2 teams finish with same record like the NFL does. Imagine breaking the game having all teams finish 81-81 lol

If this was something that affected Diamond Dynasty they would fix it. I don't buy it that they can't fix it for 22. Maybe not on day one, but they could release an update that would address this. However, it's for offline franchise mode, and we all know that's not going to get addressed.

Late to take it out. However I bet next year it’s gone. It would mean taking double switching and all those options out of the game too

It is important to have DH optional for historic rosters. Im keeping my current franchise with no NL DH and won't be playing future games if it is forced on us.

It is important to have DH optional for historic rosters. Im keeping my current franchise with no NL DH and won't be playing future games if it is forced on us.

Very true, but I doubt very much they care about classic rosters otherwise work wouldn’t be wasted with them

I am not sure how hard it would be to add the extra teams. But considering the playoffs are a massive part of baseball.. They need to get it done. Even if its a post launch patch.

Seems like it being in a update would be a realistic possibility..they talked about what may or may not get in this year after the lockout ending. I really would like to have that same immersion of the playoff races now having those extra spots up for grabs so playing all those games only to have it not be that same playoff format will take away alot of that aspect of realism for a season. Its not there fault but id assume they will now take a hard look at getting it in thru a patch. there usually good about the rules getting put in. Its a time crunch though.
