Yep, yellow is one of the Braves official colors.

If I remember correctly there are 3-5 teams in the game that actually have a 3rd team color (when you apply team color 3) everyone else is white at home and gray on the road.

Decided to go through and look this up for every team.

      • Orioles - 1 = Black, 2 = Orange, 3 = Black
      • Red Sox - 1 = Red, 2 = Blue, 3 = White
      • Yankees - 1 = Blue, 2 = Gray, 3 = White
      • Rays - 1 = Dark Blue, 2 = Light Blue, 3 = White
      • Blue Jays - 1 = Blue, 2 = Red, 3 = White
      • White Sox - 1 = Black, 2 = Gray, 3 = White
      • Guardians - 1 = Red, 2 = Blue, 3 = White
      • Tigers - 1 = Blue, 2 = Orange, 3 = White

      • Astros - 1 = Blue, 2 = Orange, 3 = White
      • Angels - 1 = Red, 2 = Blue, 3 = White
      • Athletics - 1 = Green, 2 = Yellow, 3 = White
      • Mariners - 1 = Blue, 2 = Teal, 3 = White
      • Rangers - 1 = Blue, 2 = Red, 3 = White
      • Braves - 1 = Blue, 2 = Red, 3 = White
      • Marlins - 1 = Black, 2 = Teal, 3 = White
      • Mets - 1 = Blue, 2 = Orange, 3 = White
      • Phillies - 1 = Red, 2 = Blue, 3 = White
      • Nationals - 1 = Red, 2 = Blue, 3 = White
      • Cubs - 1 = Blue, 2 = Red, 3 = White
      • Reds - 1 = Red, 2 = Black, 3 = White
      • Brewers - 1 = Blue, 2 = Yellow, 3 = Cream
      • Pirates - 1 = Black, 2 = Yellow, 3 = White
      • Cardinals - 1 = Red, 2 = Blue, 3 = White
      • Diamondbacks - 1 = Red, 2 = Black, 3 = Tan
      • Rockies - 1 = Black, 2 = Purple, 3 = White
      • Dodgers - 1 = Blue, 2 = Red, 3 = White
      • Padres - 1 = Brown, 2 = Yellow, 3 = White
      • Giants - 1 = Black, 2 = Orange, 3 = Cream

I don't understand the point of having a "team color 3" if it's not gonna be utilized properly. The Rays used to have yellow as their 3rd team color on older versions of the game but as you can see that's no longer the case. The Marlins should have red as their 3rd team color. As explained before the Braves should have yellow as their 3rd team color. The Diamondbacks 3rd team color is tan, which is fine, but should probably be teal. The Cardinals 3rd team color should be yellow. As someone else mentioned, powder blue should be one of the team colors for the Royals. One can make the case that red should be one of the team colors for the White Sox based on the throwback uniforms they've been wearing lately. Now that black is back in the fold for the Mets there's the case they should have black as one of their team colors.

I don't know if this is another situation where SDS is required to follow the style guide or not. But it's funny the Rays haven't changed their colors but they used to have yellow as their 3rd team color and now it's no color the case.

Team color 3 is meant to be utilized for equipment. Since there is no option for home/road equipment Team Color 3 takes it's place (minues a few teams). When you assign team color 3 to accessories, cleats, batting gloves, wristbands/guards, arm bands, sleeves, sun glasses, catcher gear it will be white at home and gray when on the road (as long as you have the correct road uniform if you wear an alternate home top on the road the equipment will be white) that is its purpose.

Ok, I wasn't aware of that but it makes sense. I've always hoped by now we'd get a home/road option for everything.

But what you said still doesn't answer my question about why some teams used to have a color as their team color 3 (like the Rays it used to be yellow) and now they don't.

Team color 3 should remain for most teams white. As far as the Braves go, yes technically the third color is yellow and, that is only the case because of the binding on the Tomahawk. The reason some of the Braves players wear yellow, and it has nothing to do with the Braves third color, is because that color is on the national flag of where said player is from. SDS is doing the right thing by keeping the color 3 white.

                Another Diamondbacks update:

Diamondbacks are playing against the Mets today, and they are wearing the red undershirt/socks, and red cap/black bill with their road uniforms as well.

Someone at some point said the Cubs Wrigleyville uniforms were using the regular batting helmets, well that's been fixed now too.

It would be nice for them do update and/or have the ability to select different Stance socks options for teams, since some of them are different from what the game has.

This goes back to the break down in control of elements that aren't the cap, jersey or pants but socks should all be the same.

It's absolutely ridiculous watching a game and seeing the same team have a solid color and multiple stripe styling. You can have 4 players wearing different styled socks.

The socks are part of the uniform.

With this trend and the ads coming (that look completely awful by the way) MLB uniforms have really gotten a lot worse.

I was at a AAA game the other day, the Gwinnett Stripers vs the Jumbo Shrimp. Acuna Jr and Williiam Contreras were there and both were wearing Atlanta gear. Acuna Jr wore an ATL batting helmet and ATL stance socks and had the ATL bat donut in the on deck circle and Contreras wore ATL socks and his red catchers gear even though the color of the uniform that day was a green jersey with grey pants. I'm surprised that's even allowed.

Red is a Gwinnett color too. But that makes sense to me. Those guys are on the 40 man, makes sense to let them use their "normal" equipment and not make them get all new stuff for a stint in the minors. Batting Helmet and socks seems a little weird, but catcher's gear, cleats, elbow protection, etc. makes sense to me.

Acuna Jr wore an ATL batting helmet and ATL stance socks and had the ATL bat donut in the on deck circle and Contreras wore ATL socks and his red catchers gear even though the color of the uniform that day was a green jersey with grey pants. I'm surprised that's even allowed.
MLB players on rehab are allowed to wear MLB gear except for hats-jerseys I believe. I can’t remember off hand, but one of the Mets had their helmet with them in the minors before.
