Re: Franchise Players - How do you franchise?
Not how I prefer to play, certainly, but they're always going to advertise for the shorter options - and quick counts speeds it up even more.Comment

Because of Fast Play. Finishing a full game in 45 minutes (no quick counts) is pretty doable in 45 minutes when all the presentation is cut.

Re: Franchise Players - How do you franchise?
All 162, every pitch. Rare exceptions are if a game is totally out of hand and I’ve just had enough, I might sim off the final inning or something.
I used to not have the patience for this but now I find that every at-bat is of equal importance if you’re truly invested. If a guy is 0-for-3 tell me that next at-bat isn’t pretty important for him, for example.
I just don’t really want to sim any at-bats anymore just like how I don’t really want my pitchers’ numbers to be skewed in any way by simming.
Yes it takes forever but the net effect is that, well, every pitch and every at-bat is important to me. And that’s awesome.Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.Comment

Re: Franchise Players - How do you franchise?
I play the first 10 games of a season, and then afterward I play 1 game a series. Postseason is all the games.
This is how I have done franchise mode for years now and allows me to get through 5+ seasons on each show. I have gone as far as 10!Comment

Re: Franchise Players - How do you franchise?
Player lock as a created two way player.
Between 08 and 20 I played RTTS, since 18 I got tired of the archetype restrictions and losing a lot of the ability to customize. Franchise with player lock let’s me customize to my hearts content.
Another thing I enjoyed was being a closer and going after saves longer than an inning.Comment

I can easily finish some in 40-45 minutes.Comment

Re: Franchise Players - How do you franchise?
That’s one of my resolutions for this year. I want to stop skipping all of the cut scenes and let the game breath a little. I’m an X masher (even though I hate fast play/hybrid)Comment

Re: Franchise Players - How do you franchise?
got a few different ways I play, depending on my team ( my only true franchise ((everyone else was a one-&-done season)) was Atlanta 2014-2020, R.I.P. Y2Y)
Baltimore & Atlanta: every pitch & AB for all 162 games
ChiSox: usually play 1, sim 2
Oakland/Seattle: usually just only bat/hit every inning all 162
Colorado: usually just only pitch every inning all 162
Pitt/Cincy - usually bat the first 3 innings, sim the middle 3 innings and pitch every inning from the 7th inning on
I have a handful of times also played full seasons as the Birmingham Barons when franchising as the Pale HoseOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: Franchise Players - How do you franchise?
I play every game but the way I do it is play the first inning, sim 2-5, then play the rest. It gets me through games quicker and I get to use my starter for a few innings and handle all the bullpen moves unless my starter gets shelled while I’m simmingComment

Re: Franchise Players - How do you franchise?
Every game, every pitch. No matter what. If I accidentally sim a game, I reload the save file and play it. I've never made it through 2 seasons, however, just able to endure 1 season. It's a VERY long process.Last edited by Nygs; 03-26-2022, 12:01 PM.Comment

Re: Franchise Players - How do you franchise?
I always play every game but on quick counts and with medium cutaways. Has anyone done that while also loading into minor league games to hit for top prospects? I was thinking about doing that this year for the first time and am unsure how much time that would add.Comment
